Hello,

can you tell me if DL has the same finger scan at the turnstilesthat WDW has? Some acquaintances of ours have purchased tickets partially used by another family (something about a 13-day period???), and I told them they could not use them. Did I steer them wrong?

2nd ?: we have lunch at ariel's grotto on our first day. Assuming we leave from Fantasyland, how long a walk is it to DCA's grotto? We are fast walkers.

tks!

You were right - they cannot use those tickets from WDW. 1) Tickets are non-transferable. 2) Unless the original family paid to have the No-Expiration option, those tickets are null and void within 14 days of the first use. I can't see a seller paying that extra money, if they know they aren't going to use all the days in the first place.

I feel sad for people who do that kind of thing (and get screwed out of their money), because they didn't take an hour to educate themselves....

They do not have the finger scan readers at DL. To use WDW tickets, they would have to take those tickets to the main ticket booth and there, the tickets would be researched before they could apply the cost to a DL ticket. That's when the other family would find out they got screwed and would have to pony up the entire cost.

You are going from the back end of one park to the back of the other. I'd say 15 minutes tops, unless you run into a long line at the DCA gates. Bearing straight and just to the right when you get into DCA is the quickest route to Ariels.

tks for the reply. They are trying to use DL tickets, not WDW, but I guess the same issue would happen!

Sorry - got confused when you asked about the finger scan and then tickets. Natural connection.

Actually DL tickets don't work the same as WDW (they don't sell a no-expire option), so there is a chance they could still potentially use them, even though it would be technically illegal as the tickets are non-transferable.

They definitely want to check to see what they have - make sure they weren't the 3 day $99 tickets that were sold at Vons. Those definitely expired 45 days after first use and they had to be initially used by 8/31. So those are definitely gone - they had Woody on the front.

I checked online and you were right - DL Hoppers definitely expire 13 days after first use (different from WDW's 14 days). They need to contact the seller and see when the first day they used the passes was - before you guys go off to the park. If they can't, then I would make darn sure they stop at the ticket counter and check them. Better to be embarrassed there than at the gate with a long line behind you. That way they can just look at each other and say "Honey - you grabbed the wrong ones off the dresser!!!!"
