Newbie Questions

I am interested in DVC and have ordered the DVD, but I am impatient and have a few questions. (Be patient with me some of them are probably very simple).

1. If I purchased say 160 points, I would get this many points per year.

2. You basically use your points for your room and then purchase tickets and stuff on the side?

3. Can you do the dining plan if you are a member?

4. Do normal mortgage companies do financing for this or do you have to go through special ones?

4. Do normal mortgage companies do financing for this or do you have to go through special ones? Disney does it's own financing, but you are welcome to do things like a home equity or other loan should you choose to.

Be sure to read all the posts you can on these three DVC boards too. You will glean a lot of information from them, and will come up with many more questions.

Remember, the Disney Dining Plan is only a current thing. That could change at any time.

do dvc members get a discount on the Dinning plan? I thought you couldnt ge teh dinning plan, but you could buy a dinning discount card for $60 that gives you a 20% discount. Maybe I am thinking of the Annual pass discount.

DVC Members do not get a discount on the DDP nor on the DDE card. You must be a FL resident or a AP/PAP holder to purchase the DDE card.

I ordered the DVD and thought it was good but not enough info, so I called Disney and asked a bunch of questions and asked to be sent some more info.. I just got today a great book from them with all sorts of info explaining points, charts, pictures, other destinations (and how many points they need), plus other things....
its much better than the DVD, I would definitly call and ask for it if you still want to see more..
