Thanks for your patience. I'm new to the whole DVC thing, but I think it's an interesting possibility. I'm just not exactly sure how you go about trying to rent someone's points. I think I'm interested in a studio at Boardwalk sometime in the month of July 2007. Is it already too late to try for this time frame? Also, can I add the Dining Plan as a renter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's not too late. Just post your request on the DVC Rent/Trade Board - include your dates, the resort you'd like and the room size. You will need to use the title "Reservation Wanted" when you submit the post. Let the member know you want the Dining Plan so they can add that to the reservation - you will pay for that at the resort - not to the member.

Thanks for the help. I just have one follow-up question. If I use the points calculator it tells me that for the stay I'm looking for it would be 55 points. If someone's renting points for $10 does that mean the total stay will be $550 or are their other costs/transfer fees that I don't know about? I realize that the Dining plan would be an additional cost, but I'm talking about the cost of the room itself. Thanks again.

There is no room tax when using DVC points. The cost of the stay should be agreed upon prior to sending any money for the rental.
