I haven't been to DW in well over 30ys so I'm really clueless! We're planning our first trip w/ our twins (3.5yo at time of the trip) and I'm extremely excited but also very nervous b/c one of our twins has a peanut allergy.

Any experienced DW travellers who have peanut allergy kids? How PA friendly is the park?

Thanks for all the info! I'm learning tons just swimming around in all these fun posts! :cool1:

I've been twice now with DH who has severe tree nut allergies. The chefs were always more than willing to come out and tell us what would be safe, etc... offered to make some substitutions if needed and were great about protecting against cross contamination. Neither visit did we ever have any problem.

I noticed this time when we were at TS...when we registered at the podium we were asked if anyone had allergies. There seems to be a more agressive stance in meeting allergy needs. You can always call ahead to speak with a chef if you have any questions.

Disney is great at accommodating allergies! DS is allergic to eggs. I emailed a woman name Brenda Bennett (sorry I don't have her email anymore but you can probably find it if you search these boards or AllEars), and she was terrific about letting me know what DS could and couldn't have.

I will tell you, she cautioned us against relying too much on CS. The TS restaurants are much more capable at handling allergies. The chefs at TS are very happy to prepare foods separately to meet your needs, but CS is all pre-prepared.

By the way, if your child is really super sensitive to peanuts, you should inform your airline. We were flying to Disney once and they made an announcement asking all travelers not to consume any peanut-containing products on the flight because there was a child onboard with a severe peanut allergy, and they didn't serve any peanut-containing snacks. That was JetBlue.

Have a great...and Epipen-free...trip!
