Newbie Question

We are going to stay at the cabins for 3 nights following a 4 day Wonder Cruise in February. Can somebody tell me how far the nearest cabin loop is from the marina? Is it walkable? DD will be 3 and DS 5. We are staying at the cabins because of the boat to MK. We recently stayed at the Poly and WL. Looking for something more casual with room for DH and I to relax...but I am getting concerned that everything is just so darn far away here. Any advise, comments, help etc. would be greatly appreciated. PS. Can I buy a steak and some fresh veggies at the trading post to grill - or do I really need to rent a car?

I have heard that the NEAREST cabin loop is walkable to the marina, but everyone has different standards. FW does have an internal bus that takes you to the marina.

But I know for sure that very few would want to walk from the farthest loop.

It's a pretty far walk, especially for 2 little ones, from the cabins to the marina. You could rent a golf cart ($45/day), or you can just hop an internal bus.

The Meadows Trading Post sells little pre-packaged frozen steaks, but no fresh produce. They have canned veggies, and maybe a bag of frozen veggies, but I'm not sure.

It may be cheaper to get a cab to the grocery store once, then to rent a car for the whole time.

What a great picture!! Never been able to see an ariel view of FW and this is definately cool!!! Were you able to get that on-line or do you have special access to pics like that? Thanks for posting.

GOOGLE MAPS

1. do a regular google search for "Lake Buena Vista, FL"

2. search results will give you map links to "Google Maps - Yahoo! Maps - MapQuest" Click on Google maps.

3. Zoom in all the way and click "satallite" button on top right hand corner of map. You will be right over Downtown Disney.

4 Move map around to find the disney park you want, I usually go straigt to the Left till I find EPCOT and then follow monorail to MK which is very close to WL and FW. The area is huge.


The picture I posted is actually two screen captures that I pasted together, but it helped me decide that FW was just to BIG for my family to do in the heat and humidity of AUG.
