Hi,

I'm a newbie to scrapbooking and I'm starting to put together a couple of pages.

My current page is for a surprise anniversary party I attended last summer. I don't have many pics of it, but what I have was taken with a disposable left on the table for guests.

Anyway, the only photo I have of "the moment" (when the couple walks thru the door) is VERY bad. I'd like to keep it though because the expression on my friends face is priceless, but it's dark and fuzzy.

I was thinking if I could somehow just frame her face and cut away the rest of the pic, it would make that moment "pop" and save a bad pic from the trash can.

My problem is I can't find a frame that I like. What would all you scrapper superstars do? Would a metal frame on top of a dark, fuzzy pic just blend all together ?

One more thing, besides your LSS, where online do you guys get your supplies?

TIA for all your help!

:)

Have you tried matting the picture? That would make it pop off the page as long as you pick a nice color.
As for where I get my supplies, it's Micheals or AC Moore. I just became a creative memories consultant so now I will be getting more of my supplies through them :)

I would mat it in a color that makes it stand out.

I wouldn't cut it down in size unless you have the negative to get another copy made. just in case you dont like it that way.

Sometimes a one of a kind shot no matter how bad is better than nothing. I used many blurry/dark or out of focus shots when I redid my wedding album. They were all I had and I wanted the moments to be in the album.

Have fun with your new hobby.

Oh and I shop at Michaels, my LSS we have 4, and Creative Memories.

Hi
If I order stuff online I get it from

www.lifetimemoments.com

Great site, helpful message boards and the owner of the store is great. She has everything and if there's something you don't see... she'll try to find it!

Another option would be to do one of the kodak machine jobs on it that they have at walmart and other places- See if ya could make it better or just copy it and slice the copy-

I get my stuff at Pebbles in my Pocket and Roberts (Provo Craft) as I live in the scrapbook valley (Home base of Provo Craft, Keeping Memories and Pebbles are all within spitting distances) and a few other stores- I have yet to buy scrapbook stuff online because well If I cant find it here- I really dont need it.. :)

Thanks for your suggestions! I'm going to try and see what a matt around it would do.

Lydia - tsk, tsk - you're an enabler :) That website is addicting !

Thanks again

One more thing. Franne, I got your email, but closed it before I could reply and now I can't figure out how to get back to it!

Another idea is to cut a piece of vellum to lay over the photo, then cut out a window in the vellum where you're friend's face is. That way you can still see the whole photo but only the face is really visible.

Do you have a scanner? You can try blowing up the photo so you can get just what you want. I am always playing around with my photos to see what else is there That I 'm not seeing. I have a photo that I took of sis and me and I now hve a photo (by playing around) of just our eyes also. Soooooooooooo cOOOOOOL
