We're going on Saturday! :cool1: We have 2 kids, 4 and 1.5. I want to get gift cards at Target ahead of time and am wondering what would be a good amount to get. We only have 2 reservations, one at Tony's Town Square one evening and the other at Chef Mickey's. The grandparents are joining us at Chef Mickey's so they may/may not pay for the tab on that one. Otherwise we play to eat QS type meals. We also are bringing TONS and TONS of snacks. Anyway, can anyone help me out? I really have no clue how much one typically spends on food while there.

Typically you will be around $10 per person at qs. You can use the gift cards to buy souveniers as well. I would just figure out how many days you will be in park and how many quick service meals you think you will eat. Also gift cards don't expire so you can always use them online at disneystore.com or just save them if you ever plan on going again.

With bringing lots of snacks and the ages of the kids, I honestly don't think you will spend a ton on food-- if you want to it would be easy to spend a small fortune, but it won't be necessary.

How many days is your trip? Will you be returning to the resort for afternoon breaks? When my kids were little we would only purchase maybe one CS meal per day. We had breakfast in the room, brought snacks, went back to the room around 11:30, are more snacks, and maybe got something for dinner. You may find that the kids want to share your food or maybe get them one adult meal to split rather than two kids meals. We did a lot if sharing because we like to try different things. Maybe split two adult meals at one place, then two more meals somewhere else a few hours later.

Our first few trips (2 adults/3 kids) we only spent about $250 aside from groceries during 10+ day trips. We were not being stingy, we just ate what/when we felt like it- including ice cream a few times. Of course last trip we spent that much just at one meal at ohanas.
