Newbie Question

Please don't smack me down on this as I'm sure this is asked a lot, but is there any kind of "how to" discussion in here regarding the typical steps you would take to transfer or rent points to someone? I've looked and everyone seems to already know what they are doing. We have some points that expire in February.
