Hi all,

As the title suggests, this is another question from a new member without a clue. :confused3

I was wondering why we need to carry around the DVC card? When, if ever, do you need to show it?

I recall staying at BWV as a renter, and I got the free valet parking etc and I don't recall ever being asked for a membership card.

Thanks! pirate:

I haven't been Home yet, but perhaps at the Block Parties? Or when asking for member-only dining discounts?

Increasingly, they are asking for a member card to give the discount benefits. You will also need it at the block party. It's not absolutely necessary for check-in, but I usually present it, because it seems to get me checked in faster.

I had to present mine when I picked up our AP using DVC discount. I had ordered vouchers, but I think they just needed to confirm DVC membership in person.

 Ok, can you tell me what the member block party is?

They have been having them throughout the summer. I'm not sure if they are still going on, but they usually have SOME kind of member event mnost seasons. We loved the holiday ones last December. For the block parties, they have been held at Pleasure Island. The reports here have been very favorable. In December, they had them outside the Epcot gate near BCV.

I've been asked for it for valet parking a couple of times and to get a lunch discount over at Epcot once.

I needed for my annual pass and my Macdonald's discount.

those are the only 2 times I have needed it.

Does anyone know where on the member's web site I can find all of the discounts? I don't ever remember seeing anything about McDonalds.

ALso, when I called to make the Family Magic Tour arrangements, I asked if they have a DVC discount and I was told yes, 20%. :cool1: Then I went on the member web site and could find no mention of it.

Thanks,!

here is the MacDonalds
McDonald's
Enjoy the world-famous restaurant in a whimsical new way. Members receive a 20% discount on any lunch or dinner Extra Value Meal™. Also, receive one free breakfast sandwich when a breakfast sandwich of equal or greater value is purchased. Offer valid only at the Downtown Disney Marketplace location.

there is also a discount of Kona Cafe in the Polyn - I think lots of DVC members like this restuarant.

I've shown mine for the AP discount at the International Gateway and also for the Block Party and the sneak preview for Soarin'. We use the DDE for meals now, so haven't used the DVC discount.

Thanks, Spiceycat. I didn't know about the McDonald's discout, either! :goodvibes

I try to kept up with the discounts - since they added Kona Cafe (one of my favorites) to the list with me knowing it..

Anyway MacDonald is one of my favorite - I know no taste... :goodvibes

I have to use my Member Id because they first though I was on Disney Dinning plan - they have forgotten their discount. so bring your discounts with you. (when you check in at the front desk you get a list). Evidently WDW resort guest are trying to use their ID to charge at this place.
