We are going in December for the first time. I have seen several people talk about "wishes". What are they, when are they, where do you see/hear wishes? Thanks in advance.

Erin

Wishes is this set of Fireworks currently running .

Just like the parades they name them and the music that goes with them.

Wishes is the name of the fireworks show at night at the MK. The disney web site will show the times for the days you will be there. The best place to see them is anywhere in front of the castle.

Wishes is the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom.
You can see it from almost anywhere in the park or from one of the three monorail resorts. Some good places to catch it are from the bridge going into Tomorrow Land, from Main Street, or if you have little ones you can see most of it from Pooh's new kiddie park(sorry I forget the exact title of that area at the moment). At one point Tinkerbell comes out of the Castle and flies over the crowd. I do not know if she can be seen from anywhere other than the bridge or Main street.

Have a great time.

Since you are going in December you will have an opportunity to see 2 versions of the Wishes fireworks show. On the nights when there is a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) they show a special Holidays Wishes show. This is a hard ticket event - meaning that you have to buy a special ticket to get into the park. You can see the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian resort. On non-MVMCP nights in December, the regular Wishes show is shown at 8pm (usually). They are both fantastic shows.

Go to google.com and do a video search for Disney Wishes. There are wonderful videos of the shows on there if you want to see it ahead of time!

WOW! Was that really neccessary??? You were a WDW Newbie once, too, you know!

OP: Wishes is the most beautiful most magical fireworks display ever! :) It's (usually) at park closing of the Magic Kingdom. They shoot them off above the castle, so the best place to see them is from Main Street. My fave place to stand is by the ice cream parlor. In December, you can go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for an additonal fee and see Wishes in 360 degrees. It's the coolest thing!

If you're going for the very first time, why not pick up a guidebook like the 2006 Passporter book? It will help you plan your trip! You can get it on their website (www.passporter.com) , www.amazon.com or at Barnes & Noble. I got this along with the Birbaum and the Unofficial Guide for my first trip and it really helped. (I get a new Passporter every year since, too!)

Have fun!!
