Newbie question: Timing of dinner and Enchantment

We have only been to DW once, and it was seven years ago. We have reservations for CP at 7:15 this coming Wednesday, and Enchantment starts at 8:00. Is it going to be possible to show up a little early, eat, and then just go outside the restaurant to see the show?

You can check in early but that doesn't mean that a table will be open. I wouldn't count on getting seated early. My experience has been that you're just as likely to be seated later than your ADR time as you are to be seated early.

If you can get an earlier reservation, grab it. It's going to be difficult with only 45 minutes from the start of your ADR until the fireworks begin.

Good choice changing. At the prices Disney charges for food, I don't like trying to rush through a meal to get to the next thing.
Agree with PP that we have been seated late at least as often as early, maybe more.
