Newbie question for dining plan

Can anyone please help with a question I have, I've tried looking everywhere but can't find the answer.

When using a table credit, you get an entrée, drink and dessert - but if I wanted to order a side dish, would this mess up the dining plan somehow?

I'm just worried that you either have to pay out of pocket or dining plan credit, not both (as I'd be using cash for my side dish).

Has anyone done this and we you ok saying "I'm using x amount of credits and will be paying cash for this side dish"?

Probably a really obvious answer but I don't want to make things difficult on the bill for our server.

Anything not covered on your dining credits will just be added to your final bill - you won't receive a separate bill. Even if you don't order anything extra, you will still receive a bill to add the tip (not covered by dining plan).

Thank you. So I'd just scan my magic for the ts credits to be taken off, leave the correct amount for the side dish, then leave tip for overall total?

Yes, or charge all the extras and the tip back to your room and not need to take cash with you for that.

No question is stupid. Disney does not explain it well. Yes you can order what ever you want and you will get a bill for anything over the table service credits plus tip for the whole meal.
