Newbie postcard question

After reading about these postcards for discounts, etc. from Disney, I understand that it is totally random when or where they are sent out. My question is: How do you even get into the pool for these? I applied for the Disney Visa, so I'm hoping that puts me on the radar. Are any of you signed up on any other boards or newsgroups that may have brought you to their attention? I've never heard of anyone that is not interested in a Disney trip getting one. Any suggestions?

I have the Disney visa and I was a member of the Disney Club before for five years...I have never received a post card of any kind. I am wondering this.......when I called to make this years reservations the guy said "I see you've been here 8 times and the last time was in October, is that correct?" If you are planning to go, I wonder if you just don't get the cards for promos??? We were offered in 2001 to upgrade resorts for $40.00 more a night, but that was when I called in my reservation.

I read you have to go to Disney's web site and register. I registered in 2000 and got my first card. I received a post card yesterday and I thought it was from staying at POR last year but I made my reservations with Disney directly.

I don't know that there is any rhyme or reason to them. I got a postcard a few weeks ago. The name on the postcard was my first name and then my mother's maiden name. I've never ever gone by that name, for anything. So who knows where they come up with the names!
