Our first trip to Disney World is this October, and I am confused about the Disney bus system. Do all buses stop everywhere, or do certain ones go to certain places.

Example: We're staying the Beach Club and want to eat at Wolfgang Puck's the first night. Is there a certain bus that stops at BC to DTD? I've never been on a city bus even, so not sure how these things work!!

Thanks!

yes, the buses all have specific destinations. if you are going to dtd, you will need to board the dtd bus, same for mk, epcot, mgm. they also run buses for blizzard beach, and typhoon lagoon. and going back to the beach from your destination, simply look for the carribean beach bus. hope that helped.

The destinations of the buses will be running on their message boards. If you are staying at the BC and want to go to DTD, just stand at the bus stop marked DTD and you'll be picked up. You board the bus back first (or front if you have young children) and young adults should stand and let older passengers sit (common etiquette). If your bus happens to be boarding a wheelchair, it will take a bit longer and they will do that person first. A bus schedule should be available from your front desk. We stay at the ASmo and wait maybe 10 minutes max for a bus. At DTD for a return trip, just read the message board for your destination. At all Park and DTD bus stops they will also have your resort listed so you can congregate in the correct area to wait for your bus ride home. Enjoy. You'll soon become experts :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Let's not confuse the poor woman with a typo. Since she's staying at Beach Club, she'll look for the Beach Club bus when looking to return to her resort; Caribbean Beach Resort is an entireley separate resort.

Many of the resort busses share with another resort, so if you're at a park, you might board a bus marked YC, BC, S&D.

The DTD bus will stop at the Marketplace first (big Disney store, Rainforest Cafe), and will then proceed to the West End, where you would get off if going to Cirque, Wolfgang Puck's resteraunt, Virgin store, etc. No need to get off the first DTD stop and walk 20 minutes to get to the West Side.

PS,. Hope you realize there's 2 Wolfgang Puck's. The Marketplace has an express, with made-to-order flatbreads and pre-made sandwiches. It's very near the bus stop. The West Side has the big Wolfgang Puck's, with a fancy resteraunt, regular resteraunt (which we LOVE), and also a quick express.

Another thing is to get to another resort you will need to go to a park first. If you wanted to go to pop century for instance. You would take a bus to any of the parks (whatever bus showed up first) and then at the park go to the pop century area (all hotel bus stops are well marked) and get the bus there. Do the opposite to get back to your resort.

Disney's bus system is designed to take guests from all resorts to the major theme parks and DTD. The system is efficient and you will be experts in no time at all. As the last poster said, it is more complicated to go resort to resort. You would take a bus to the nearest major theme park, and transfer there for a bus to the resort. You would reverse the process to get home.
So to go from the Beach Club to the Polynesian you would take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then the monorail to the Poly. If the MK is closed, you could take a bus to DTD and transfer to the Beach Club from there.
By the way, the Beach Club does not have buses to EC or MGM. There is a boat from the dock on the lake, or you can walk to either park.
Have fun and enjoy your trip.

There are two CRUCIAL pieces of advice that I have:

1 - READ THE SIGNS. Each bus is equipped with a bright orange LED destination sign on the front of the bus, and on the side by the front door. This sign will tell you exactly where the bus is going. If the sign doesn't say it, it doesn't go there. Also, at each theme park, there will be signs as to which bus picks up at which stop.

2 - ONLY trust those wearing purple pants! (aka, the bus drivers) You laugh, but I'm not kidding. Front Desk, and theme park CMs are notorious for giving out wrong bus info. Trust only the bus drivers themselves.
