Hey All...Well we finally did it we are about to embark on a full blown DIS Vacation :earsgirl: But do to popular demand (The Children Of Course)We booked the nick hotel kids suites.I was not sure :confused3 if I made the right choice help please! I'm somewhat afraid that we might miss out on all the DIS Magic by staying off the property. Is there any truth to that and should we re-make reservations at one of the DIS Resorts in FL.
Thanks Richie V.

I think if you got a great rate at Nick...you chould go and have fun...I am hoping you have a car. My boys were always facinated with the commercial last year, and when we drove by it on the way to WDW they thought it was cool. But once we were at wdw they never mentioned it again. Anything with over the top theming really appeals to kids. :wizard:
You will miss out on the EMH and it is way easier to take a break and go back and forth to a WDW hotel...how does your price compare to a Value or moderate? (Remember the values are ment to be compared to a really nice budget hotel, and a moderate is similar to a really nice midprice hotel) My kids love doing things like trading pins with hotel employees, and eating things like mickey waffles...but that is not to say you might still have a great time at Nick...Post your prices, ages and # of persons going, and any other info.
Also here's someone who was recently there http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=917550

Agree with all of the above!! :goodvibes

We have never stayed off site. However I do have friends that stayed off site their first visit. They stayed on site their second visit and said they would never stay off site again. They drive each time they go and they still prefer to stay on site. I also think that if you get some pictures of on site resorts and show them to the kids, they might not have a problem switching if you wanted to make that an option.

This does not mean you won't have a wonderful time, but since you did ask for opinions.... :rolleyes1

We like to stay onsite, think it's part of the majic. :Pinkbounc

Tomorrow we embark on our 4th disney vacation. The first two times we stayed offsite, Doubletree in DTD and Raddison in Kisimmee. Last year we stayed at POR, loved on site. This year we're staying at POP. I don't think we;ll stay off site again. We learned that staying on site really is part of the magic....

If your not sure, go to your web browser and type in "Nickelodean hotel reviews". See what people have to say that have stayed there :cheer2:

Welcome to the DIS!

Our 1st trip we stayed offsite. DW and I agreed from then on it was on site only. It wasnt because of the place we stayed either, within walking distance of DD. Transportation was a key issue. We had to totally depend on their bus service which was far inferior to Disneys.
Also, you do miss out on some of the magic of being at WDW while not onsite.

JMO, but I would cancel that ressie, stay at one of the All stars or Pop if this is in comparable range. At any rate, have fun!!

I don't know the age of your kids, but with younger kids (mine are 5 and 7) I prefer to stay on site.

The convenience of being able to (relatively) quickly get back to our room for naps in the afternoon makes our trip much better.

We go to the parks when they open in the morning, Leave the parks around 11:30 to 12:00 for naps, and then go back in the late afternoon for dinner and more touring.

For us, naps and swimming make ALL the difference in keeping the kids happy.

Touring the parks is a blast, but don't let anyone tell you it's not exhausting. :rotfl2:

Oh, and a cheap rental car can be nice too.
