So thinking of finally taking the plunge, and leaving Florida and going to Disneyland. We are Annual Passholders at WDW so have that down to a science. This would be our first trip to Disneyland and have no idea about anything. We would like to go in June (before the opening of GE), what are the crowds and temps like around the second week of June? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
CJ

Surviving Summer 2019 at Disneyland!

If you really want to avoid SWGE, try to visit before June. Bob Iger announced June as the opening month in a recent interview, but didn't give a date. We're expecting an announcement on a date soon. Bets around here are on June 21st, given the current AP blockout calendars. But even if that turns out to be true, there may be media and preview events going on all month. Also, early June will have Grad Nites (they start in early May and run until early June. Do a search on this forum for the exact dates.) The first two weeks of June will be crowded as schools get out and the lower APs cram in their last visits before being blocked out of the parks or out of DL for the summer. Check the DLR AP blockout calendar carefully -- the last week and weekend before a major blockout can be very crowded. Early June usually isn't insane, but no one knows how SWGE will affect the crowd patterns. Weather in early June is usually nice -- overcast/cool in the mornings, warming up nicely during the day, cool in the evenings. The above links have lots of good information for you.

June....before SWGE....seems to be a pattern of folks targeting that time frame....could very well be the insanity no one saw coming. The other SWGE factor not being addressed is the pre-opening SWGE events, there is evidence that will happen, but who will have the opportunity to pre-open seems to be an unknown and what that volume of folks will look like. Your best research is to look for the thread that appears here titled June 2019....that will be a good indicator for crowding. The same evidence happen for the week after Thanksgiving which was suppose to be light for a holiday, many folks posted on here that they were going to visit that week....a sampling...which ended up being a true sampling of the volume of folks who visited that week.
