Hi everyone, :wave2:

My fiance and I decided to go ahead and plan to have our honeymoon in Disneyworld. I have been there a few times, but it was when I was in grade school.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some input on what we are planning. I am totally in the dark here so any help is much appreciated!

We are going to be staying at the Animal Kingdom Resort with a savannah view. We are planning out trip through Magical Jouneys. Has anyone used this service? We will definately be visiting all the Disney parks. Are the water parks worth adding to our package? Also, any restaurants we must go to (we are big on dining out). I've heard that Mexican one at Epcot, Boma at our resort, and the Ohana at the Polynesian are fabulous.

Thanks everyone!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and Disneymoon. The AKL is beautiful!

If you like water parks, both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are lots of fun!

I don't care for San Angelo in Mexico even though it's very nice inside. Boma is great for breakfast but we didn't like the dinner. Jiko at AKL is fantastic! Ohana is lots of fun and the food is good. You should also look into the California Grill at the Contemporary and Narcoossee's or Citrico's at the Grand Floridian.

Good luck with your planning!

Welcome to the DIS Lauren!

AKL is a great place to honeymoon. Its a beautiful resort.

I would add Jiko at AKL to your dining list. Its my favorite place on WDW property. I would also reccomend the Yachtsman Steakhouse, Spoodles, and the California Grill. All have great food and service.

Congratulations and have fun planning!

Hi and welcome. We have only ate at Bomah's and Ohana's for breakfast and both were wonderful. The California Grill has an excellent dinner selection too.

If you want to see a menu choice for all restarants in WDW then go to www.allearsnet.com

If you like swimming then go ahead and add the waterparks to your tickets. I liked Typhoon Lagoon- still haven't been to Blizzard Beach yet.

Good luck and you have came to the right place to get started.

WELCOME!!!! I'm having my honeymoon at Disney in August!!! You picked a fantastic place to stay!!! If you go to the restaurants board you will get TONS of advice and opinions about the food and what's good and what's not and where to go if you like "this" and where to go if you like "that" and then 20 will disagree and give you different advice! :rotfl: It's a hoot! I love that board, it's been extremely helpful!! People are SO passionate about food. Also, allearsnet.com is very helpful as someone already said.

You should make reservations aka ADR's for the places you want to eat...you can start doing that at 180 from when you will be there and it seems that you should start ASAP!

We have ADR's at:
Le Cellier-Epcot Canada, supposed to be good
Artist Point-Wilderness Lodge, pricey but also supposed to be FANTASTIC
Yachtsman Steakhouse-don't remember where that is...
Mama Melrose-MGM Italian food
Tony's Town Square-Magic Kingdom Italian food
Crystal Palace-MK, character breakfast before the park opens!
Kona Cafe-Poly resort for breakfast

like I said, go to the restaurant board, you'll get TONS of help!!!

Congrats and welcome to the nicest board on the DIS!!!! princess: :wizard:

welcome to the dis & congrats on your upcoming disneymoon. we love akl, its a great exotic resort, great for a honeymoon. you're going to love it.

the water parks are pretty fun & nice for some downtime, the crush n gusher water ride is pretty cool at typhoon lagoon.

as for dining, we love the epcot world showcase restaurants especially le cellier in canada they have fabolous filet mignon & canadian bacon cheddar soup, yum. it also has a nice theme with its cozy stone walls & fireplace. we also like sci fi dine in at mgm, its a neat themed restaurant showing spoof sci fi clips & serves a pretty good burger & shake. i also second california grill at the contemporary for dinner, it has a great view of the magic kingdom fireworks.

another suggestion i have from our trip, is schedule a spa appt. we did a couples spa treatment the day after the wedding at the mandara spa at the dolphin & it was fabolous, very relaxing for the 2 of us.
