OK, hubby and I decided to take the plunge and buy 200 points at BCV. We are awaiting paperwork and have given our credit card number for the down payment so I'm not quite sure where we are in the process. How long does it usually take from this point to finish? At which point can you make a reservation? We are planning on "going home" for the first time in late February and I wonder what kind of availabilty there will be at this point for a studio at BCV or elsewhere.

Also, trivial I know, but do the DVC units have the Resort TV channel? It's not Disney unless I hear "Zip A Dee Doo Dah...Tip for Today!"

You should be able to call now (or rather tomorrow). When I bought over the phone, I gave my cc# for a deposit and my guide said I could make a reservation later that day, once they put it in the system. They look it up by your ss#. The only stumbling block maybe if you want to use borrowed or banked points, technically you have to wait until closing for those. But guides have been know to be able to help with that.

DVC resorts have the same channels.

Call your guide tomorrow and he / she should be able to give you your member number. We gave them our cc# last wed for our deposit and had a studio booked for the second of Feb on Friday. You should have no problems.
