Newbie Here with dumb question

ROFR = Right of First Refusal.

When you sell a DVC contract on the aftermarket, Disney is given ROFR on the contract. They decide id they will buy it back for the agreed upon price, or let it go to the new buyer. In the past it has propped up the resale market some.

Notaclue, you have plenty of areas in the forum to learn. No question is too dumb to answer. We were all there one time or another

We spent 2 years researching about the DVC and the different resorts. Thought that we knew it all, boy were we wrong. There is so much that you aren't told, some good, and some not so good.

Experience is a good teacher.:goodvibes

Welcome Home!

When we bought in we were on the phone with member services for nearly two hours asking questions. They were great, the gal we talked to knew everything there was to know. She even when into how DVC is run as a business to how each property is deeded and why according to Florida law. I guess she realized i am a science person and there is no such thing as too many details... ;-) It was fascinating. The best thing you can do is completely read all of the paperwork they send out plus anything you can find on their website. good luck

Just a small correction for the DIS readers. Member Services books reservations and preforms other reservation related functions, they do not discuss sales or sales related topics.

The Preview Center, or a Telesales Guide is who you probably talked to. They are the only ones licensed to discuss sales.

I understand where you are coming from. At first all of the abbreviations drove me nuts. But now many of them seem like a natural way of speaking. The DIS has a list of abbreviations. I always have trouble finding the link above, so I keep in my favorites on my computer.

Congratulations on your purchase, and Welcome Home!
