Hi there,

We just bought into DVC... three days ago...(I am still in that panic mode of did we do the right thing..even though I know we did... but I am still very nervous)..We bought into Animal Kingdom Lodge and we are very very excited about staying in a 1 bedroom... villa I think they call it. The thought of not being crammed in a hotel room is awesome.. Personally.. I think it was the washer and dryer that did me in!

Questions. As a DVC member.. where do you buy your park tickets? We are planning on returning next November. Do we get a discount on the tickets? Is it more than a AAA discount? Is there anything else I should know about or look into?

Thanks so much,
:thumbsup2

I know that you can shave a few bucks thru brokers like www.undercovertourist.com . If you are going to go more then 10 days in a 12 month period, get the discounted annual pass.

I think just about everyone is nervous when they first buy, but after you stay in a 1BR villa a couple of times, you'll know you did the right thing. Especially if you get the AP, you'll start to see your whole way of vacationing at WDW changes. It is just so much more relaxing to know you can just come & go from the parks without trying to get your money's worth, you don't have to pack as much since you can just throw a load of wash in, you can save money & have a light breakfast &/or lunch in the villa, it's so much nicer to relax in your living room, etc. If you can, I would really get the discounted AP & with that you can purchase the TIW (tables in wonderland) card which gives you 20% off of food & alcohol. Welcome Home!!! :goodvibes

The first time you sit out on your balcony and watch the sunrise over the savanna you will know you did the right thing by buying DVC.

I just purchased my DVC membership at AKV two days ago! I still haven't received the contract or any of the official paperwork yet, have you? One piece of advice...don't go and look at the posts about the incentives that others received when they purchased their DVC membership at the AKV. It was kind of like looking at car ads in the newspaper after purchasing a new vehicle.

The only park ticket discount specific to DVC members is $100 off an annual pass, $125 on a premium annual pass. There is no DVC discount for MYW tickets. There is a $4 discount on water park & Disney Quest tickets.
