Newbie here - MVMCP ???'s

Would you definitely spend the extra $$$ to goto MVMCP??

  • ABSOLUTELY!! No questions asked

  • Depends on what else you have to do that night!

  • Go find something that would be just as fun!

  • Nah..plenty of decorations to see when you are already at MK or go to the Osborne Lights!

We are going to be at WDW for the 2nd week of December. :yay:

Does everyone DEFINITELY recommend going to the :santa: MVMCP??

It is only :chat: myself and husband, we don't have any kiddo's, and I think my hubby is worried about how this place is 'just for kids'. I've explained to him that there will be LOTS of fun stuff for us to do  !!!

I think the main thing I'm excited to see is the snow on main street :wizard: ....but do they do the snow at the Osborne Light also??

We would watch the christmas parade and the fireworks for sure...but I don't see us watching the extra shows I'm assuming they have for the MVMCP.

Can anyone let me know what they do on those evenings and to why it's $40+ per person more....and just advice on if you'd go or use that night for other Christmas sightseeing around the world? I was just wondering what everyone's input.

THANKS for any info,

We are making our first family trip this year. The DW and I went once before we had kids.

I'm going to be there the same time you are! I'm an adult traveling alone and I'm going to MVMCP, so don't let that be a reason to stop you. I could be wrong, but I don't think they have the Christmas parade everyday; I think it might only run on Saturdays (you would see the "regular" parade any other day).

Go to this site:

allearsnet.com/tp/hol_mk.htm

I apparently can't do it as a link because I don't have enough posts yet.

It really depends on what your into,

We have done the Halloween party last 3 years and MVMCP last year. The extras are:

-Free cocoa and cookies
-Usually short ride lines
-Some different Characters (Scrouge, Santa and others) and all in Christmas attire.
-Christmas parade which I think they only do for the party until the actual hollidays
-Christmas Fireworks same as above (which I did not see because my oldest is terrified of them) but the ones at MNNSHP are the best I've seen so I would assume there great.
-Christmas Show at the theatre in Tommarowland
-Dance Parties at a couple of different locals
-Snow on Main Street
-Merch only available on those nights
-Great atmosphere

The reason we think its worth it is that we do not go to the park on the day of the parties until 4:00 when we can get in on the $40 MVMCP ticket. Since the park is open for Christmas party guest till 12:00 we have 8 hours in the park. Of course the party does not begin till 7:00. This provides our family with much needed rest, and allows us to enjoy our hotel one day.
Obviously its the Magic Kingdom and its geered to the kids, but if your "young at heart"enough to enjoy Disney with your spouse then by all means give it a try you should love it.... I do and would without the kids.

Thank you for your info....I'm just not sure that we will be into the shows....and we will have the entire week (we will be at WDW only) for rides.

It's just something I'm going to have to look into more, and put in the budget :scared1:

thanks again

My fiance and I are going to WDW and we've already purchased tickets for this. It's just the two of us and we can't wait!

Hi Erica...my DH and DS's and I are going the first week of December, and although I've never been at the holidays, we've bought tickets to the MVMCP! I can't wait :woohoo:

Don't worry about hubby thinking that Disney is "just for kids"..Mine thought that when we went, and we HAVE kids, but boy did he change his tune fast. He fell in love with the Mouse House so fast that we became DVC members when we got back home.

Sure, Disney's for kids, but it's mostly about family and happiness!! You'll have a wonderful time. I'm jealous...my DH and I are kind of looking forward to when we can visit without the kids, too :santa:

Hi- This will be our first trip over the holidays too, and we have our tikets! Of course, we do have children who LOVE the Christmas season and festivities and we do plan on getting seats for most of the entertainment that night. As far as the Osborne Lights, they are at MGM and not MK. So therfore, they are not a part of MVMCP. But, yes, they are still showing and the only cost is admission into MGM one day! Enjoy!:santa:

GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!

We go every year we go! It is really special, if you are a Christmas person. The characters are dressed in Christmas clothes, there is special merchandise, the parade is the Christmas parade, the crowds are smaller, there are extra shows (that you may think you don't want to see, but you really do :thumbsup2 ), the snow on Main Street, etc. Can't name it all, but you should really try it at least once. I think my husband and I may enjoy it more than the kids.

BTW, the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights is at MGM, not Magic Kingdom. Make sure you see that too and try to get there for the Lighting.

I think everyone should experience the parties at least once. That said....don't go just for the snow. It was a HUGE disappointment. It's not snow at all but rather soap suds/bubbles. It gets all over EVERYTHING. Big joke is what the snow was.:sad2: We loved being there for the party though. The cookies and cocoa where good too. We're doing MNSSHP this fall for the first time. I did the P&PP back in Feb. I would definitely recommend that one!
