I am new to this board - so I am sure this is really a redundant question - but your help would be much appreciated!

We are contemplating a vacation to Disney (Sept. 30th thru Oct. 3rd) and are not sure if we are making the right move. Our daughters will be 3 1/2 and 17 months... We are concerned about the following (ANY ADVICE IS MUCH APPRECIATED):

1. Weather??? Is it going to be too hot for them??? What are better months to go - if not these dates?
2. We are planning on a 3 day stay at Animal Kindgdom - Is the transportation over to the Magical Kingdom to long??
3. We got a hell of a deal - 3 days, free dining, tickets for $1695 - is there any better out there??
4. Do they offer dinner plans or half offs at any other times?
5. Are there any discount codes available for other months?
6. Is it worth it to get a Disney Visa?
7. If you were me - would you book this with 2 small kids???

THANKS AGAIN - ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED :)

It will be hot and humid. But, with some planning a maybe a break in the afternoon it is doable, even with young kids.

2. We are planning on a 3 day stay at Animal Kindgdom - Is the transportation over to the Magical Kingdom to long??

That is where we are staying in Sept. The transportation itself isn't that long, but the wait for the bus could be.

3. We got a hell of a deal - 3 days, free dining, tickets for $1695 - is there any better out there??

Only a 40% off code would be better I think.

4. Do they offer dinner plans or half offs at any other times?

Free dining has only been at this time of year for the past few years. Some people are sometimes lucky enough to get other 40% off codes, but no guarantees.

5. Are there any discount codes available for other months?

yes, but no guarantees, you could check mousesavers for some historical data.

6. Is it worth it to get a Disney Visa?

don't know, I can;t get one in Canada

7. If you were me - would you book this with 2 small kids???

YES

One way to bring the price down is to go for more days. Yes, the price overall goes up, but your ticket price doesn't double if you extend your trip from 3 days to 6 days.

The 4/3 deal would probably have been better for you given that your kids are young (one is cheap for dining, one is free). You can bring the price down, too, by changing to a cheaper hotel, if you want.

To answer #7, yes, I would, but for more days. You won't see or do much in 3 days, especially when you build in afternoon breaks (for a nap, from the heat) for the two little ones.

1. Weather??? Is it going to be too hot for them??? What are better months to go - if not these dates? WEATHER WAS NOT AN ISSUE AND ENOUGH AIR CONDITIONED PLACES TO BRING HIM IN. BUY A FAN FOR THE STROLLER AND GET A ROOF FOR STROLLER. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LOT OF WATER FOR CHILD.
2. We are planning on a 3 day stay at Animal Kindgdom - Is the transportation over to the Magical Kingdom to long?? WE WERE AT WL AND DIDNT' HAVE ISSUES WITH BUS TO AK
3. We got a hell of a deal - 3 days, free dining, tickets for $1695 - is there any better out there?? NOT SURE WHAT LEVEL YOU ARE STAYING AT BUT LAST YEAR AT WL, IT COST US $1000 FOR 2 ADULTS, STANDARD ROOM, TIX AND FREE DINING.
4. Do they offer dinner plans or half offs at any other times? YES - CHECK CODES AND RATES BOARD UNDER RESORTS.
5. Are there any discount codes available for other months?
6. Is it worth it to get a Disney Visa?
7. If you were me - would you book this with 2 small kids??? YES SIRRY BOB!

We are going to be at WDW teh same time with our 19 month old and we took him the same time last year when he was 7 months old. I would not be concerned. I answered the above in caps based upon our last year's trip. Where are you going to be, resort wise? Maybe we could get together so the kids could play!

I too would recommend staying a little longer. Disney is a much better value the longer you stay. We have been several times and have yet to see everything. I have had the Disney VISA for a few years and find it great and I use my rewards to pay for the tips at dinner.
