Hi Everyone,
I'm new here...this is my first post! Our first ever trip to the world will be September 13 - 19 and I am so excited I can't stand it! :cheer2: I've been reading everything Disney that I can get my hands on! Anyone have any ideas how crowded things will be in mid-september? I've been reading the "unofficial guide" and I'm not sure if I should plan on following one of the touring plans or if it's a slow time of year and we should be able to take it easy. Any thoughts? There are 4 of us, myself, the hubby, our 4 year old and my mom. We are all pretty active and were from So Cal, so were used to the heat. We are Disneyland annual passholders, I can find my way around Disneyland and California Adventure blindfolded, but am a total newbie at WDW.

We are staying at Yacht Club. any tips, suggestions, advice would be appreciated.

thank you!

You should check the "Theme Parks and Strategies" forum, there's a lot about September there...
Have fun! I'll be there too.

It's not really. We went that week last year and are doing it again this year because we walked on to every ride except for Soarin'!
The free dining will increase attendance a little of course but it mostly just seemed noticeable in the restaurants.
Other than the heat, it's an awesome time to go!

We love going in Sept. :thumbsup2 This will be our third trip in Sept., in a row. We were there last year during the free dining and we didn't notice a big difference in the crowds. My DD6 is in year round school-she is off May, Sept., and Jan. Sept has always been, for us, a great time to go. Lines are small, not too crowded, weather is good enough to visit water parks, and if there's no hurricane acoming, then we can live with the afternoon rain showers.

The first time I went to WDW since 1983, I found "Debs Unofficial Guide to WDW" (now allearsnet.com) and it was a live saver! There is a lot of great info there and on this site. I know what you mean about Dland. We are AP too and have been there more times than I can count. You'll probably get alot of people asking you "why are you going all the way to Florida..... The thing is is that when you go to WDW its a whole different experience. When you go to DL, especially with an AP, you know that if it's too hot or crowded you can always come back. When you're at WDW, you are there 24/7 (unless you rent a car-we always do) so you are immersed in Disney and it's great!

Don't forget the water parks-they are awesome. :goodvibes My DD6 fav. is Typhoon Lagoon, mostly due to the surf/wave pool. If you go, you can get a life jacket, for free, at each park. BB is great too! We'll probably do both on this trip.

The Yacht club is a great location-you'll be able to walk (short walk) to the Internation gate at Epcot. When we stayed there in Dec. 2002 we ended almost every day at Epcot (we were there off-season so the other parks closed early) since it's open until 9 p.m.

Have a great time-you'll love Sept. too and find yourself wanting to go back soon! :goodvibes

Feel free to PM if I can answer any question, you know, as a fellow DL AP.

It's not crowded at all. We've been there in September many times and we are starting to only go during September - the resort pricest are lowest (I am paying $99 a night for Port Orleans), it's not as hot, and there are no crowds.

My family of 4 has been on many september trips to the world!! It is our favorite month to go in. The crowds are low, you will have no problem getting on the rides. I love sitting by the pool at night (after it has cooled off a bit) having a drink and watching the boys swim- aaaaaahhhhhhh good times to come soon!!!!!!

Crowds in September are not bad at all. We go every year in the end of September/ beginning of October & we have found it to be one of the best times to go. The crowds are managable & the weather is great. I would highly recommend going in September/October.
