We are going to Disney in December (YAYYYY!!!) and I have a few questions I am hoping you great folks can help me with...

First is the weather. What is the average early December weather like in Orlando? We are coming from Ohio, so ANYTHING will be an improvement! LOL!

Second is the character lunches. Are they really impossible to get a seat for, or is it pretty easy? We want to do lunch with Cinderella & it is all my daughter talks about!

Third is all the Disney guide books available. What is the best? Someone told me about one called The Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide by Beth Haworth. Is this any good? I hate to spend $20 on a book only to find out it isn't very good.

That is all I can think of right now....I really appreciate any input you may have!

Hey, Stacey! You've come to the right place for answers! :thumbsup2

I just checked the Weather Channel website and they said the average temperature for Orlando in December is 73 F for a high and 53 F for a low. Sounds perfect!

Secondly, I'm 95% positive that the only character meal at Cinderella's Castle is breakfast, and I'm 100% positive that it is the hardest one to get into. Someone else may have more information on this.

Finally, my family doesn't do guide books a whole lot, but we do visit All Ears Net religiously. They have all kinds of information there about all things Walt Disney World. They are just as good, if not better, than a guide book.

Hope some of that info helps and welcome to the DIS! :wizard:

Maybe I can help a little. I have never been to Disney in December but from what I hear, the weather can be unpredictable. Look up Orlando in the historial info on www.wunderground.com .

The princess lunches are easier to get that the breakfasts. We have done CRT breakfast and Princess Storybook Lunch in Epcot and Cinderella Dinner at Grand Floridian. Cinderella is not guarateed at Princess Lunch so you may want to go with the other two. They are both great.

My favorite guide is Tour Guide Mike. See the ad above. We have been twice and both times his advice was dead on perfect.

Hope this helps.

Well, the weather could be anything. That is just how Florida is, we have been swimming on Thanksgiving day before. Check the weather channel website a few days before you leave.

Cindys royal table is the hardest to get. You have to have an ADR.

We really like the unoffical guide for pre parks planning, room choices , etc bought the passporter just to organize the info we took for the parks.

Now I'm just trying to break down wife for a visit next year. Have fun!

I belive they have now added a dinner at Cinderella's castle, when calling to make the reservations you will have to pay for this in advance but it is well worth it. You are able to book 90 days in advance. I would suggest booking the minute you are 90 days from your trip! Have fun! Good luck! :thumbsup2

Actually, you can make your ADR's (Advance Dining Reservations) 180 days in advance for up to 10 days of your vacation. Cinderella's has been a little easier to get because they have raised the price and require a full prepayment. You can find more info on this on the Restaurant Board.

The weather can be anything. I've been in December when the temperature was 95 degrees. So you never know.

Good luck, and have fun.
