Hello! We are getting ready to go, our first trip home!

Where is a good place to stop for groceries?

TIA

We always use the Winn Dixie on 535. Goodings is a bit closer but also pricier.

From DTD area, take Hotel Plaza Blvd to the end. Crossroads Shopping Center will be in front of you, Goodings is in here. If you make a left at this light & go down about 2 lights, Winn Dixie & an ABC store will be on your right.

You can also sign up for their discount card on-line which gets you their sale prices on soda & water especially!

Welcome Home! :welcome:

We've also shopped at the newer Super Walmart on SR 535. If you're coming off of Hotel Plaza Blvd (DD area), you would make a RIGHT on to 535. Go all the way down 535 (maybe 3-4 lights and the Super Walmart will be on your right.

We prefer Publix, it is a little farther to drive but we like it better than Walmart or Winn Dixie.

Our first trip we stopped "somewhere" The problem being that in a grocery store we ended up buying WAY too much food. It wasn't nearly as cost effective as we thought it would be (OK, we hit downright wasteful). Plus, I hate it when my local grocery store reorganizes - shopping in a strange one drove me nuts. Then, when we left, we didnt' have room to pack it home. So now we pack dry goods that we buy local (cereal, salt and pepper, coffee, sugar, peanut butter, granola bars, etc.), and buy about $20 worth of milk, eggs, half and half and bread at the Screen Door at the Boardwalk. Its more expensive than the grocery store, and the selection isn't much - but we save in not being tempted to buy frozen pizzas we never get around to using.

Whatever you use, make sure you have a reasonable list to shop from. Its really easy to say "we won't want to come back - lets make sure to get enough Coke for a whole week" and then not be in your room enough to drink more than three cans of the 24 pack you bought.

We always go to WinnDixie now the products are good and the prises are better ALSO pick up a WinnDixie customer reward Card the savings are great and we have have our card for years - We save $30-$40 everytime we shop there.

WinnDixie is just beside the OliveGarden - Turn left at CrossRoads and it is a couple of blocks down on the right - Have A great Trip

We prefer the selection at Publix as well as the prices. We even have a discount card for them that we use each trip. Tried the super wal-mart once.....NEVER again.

If you go to Deb's site www.allearsnet.com, she has several places suggested and she provides directions from MCO. For us, it is usually the Super Target.

GROCERY PICK-UP WITH A QUICK IN & OUT!!!

On your way to DVC, we have a Publix grocery in our shopping center. It is a neighborhood store, so the prices are very reasonable compared to the groceries in the Disney area. You will be about 15 minutes from your check-in at Disney.

FROM THE AIRPORT: Take the toll road "Beach Line" /528 West, headed toward Disney. Exit at Orangewood Blvd , turn Left at the light, go straight for 1/2 mile and see the "Williamsburg Downs" shopping center on your right at the intersection. The Publix is in the middle of the shopping center. You can’t miss it! If you want to stop by our office and say “hello”, our office is close to BlockBuster. Look for big yellow "TIMESHARES" sign on top of building. When exiting the shopping center turn left, that will take you directly to I-4 and on to DVC.

FROM DVC: Take I-4 as if heading toward airport, take the Sea World exit. Turn right immediately onto Central Florida Parkway. Pass the Sea World entrance and continue for 2 blocks, turn into "Williamsburg Downs" shopping center. The Publix is in the middle of it. If you want to stop by and say “hello”, our office is close to BlockBuster. Look for big yellow "TIMESHARES" sign on top of building.

Happy "magical" vacationing,
Tom :sunny:

Thanks for the directions to this Super Walmart. It sounds closer than the one we found last trip. We shop at SW at home so it's quicker for us knowing the store lay out in advance.
