Hello, all!

I have never flown before and would like some input if a few of my intended items to take would be okay on the plane.

1. Diabetic supplies: Do these need to be in a plastic bag and declared at the screening? I am on a pump and will have all the supplies with me, including syringes and already opened insulin, as it was easier not requiring to be in the fridge. The boxes are labeled with a rx label.

2. Juice boxes: I remember reading somewhere that this was allowed in more than three ounces if it was for medical reasons. This works better for me than glucose tablets, so I was thinking of taking a couple.

3.. Small, non-aerosol bottle of Febreze: It's less then three ounces, but could I pack it in either bag?

4. Spray sunscreen?

And a weird question, but like I said, this is my first time flying. Is outside food allowed in my carry-on? I definitely don't want to pay the prices on the plane, so would a sandwich be allowed? I know nothing liquidy is allowed, but maybe fruit or vegetables also? I was thinking about picking up a Subway sandwich the day before and taking it with me.

Sorry for all the questions, but everytime I search for something, I keep getting outdated info from back to 2010, when the rules were different.

I'm flying Virgin both directions if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

1. Your diabetic supplies should be in addition to any other carryon stuff. Keep them out, apart from your other things...then be sure the TSA person realizes you have the pump, before going through the scanner, and that you have the medical supplies in a different bag.

2. I can't help much with the juice boxes. I know that in some situations they are permissable.

3. Anything that is non-medical and a liquid/gel must be less than 3.4oz and in that plastic quart sized baggie.

4. Same for sunscreen...must be smaller than 3.4oz and in that quart baggie.

Have you checked your airline's official site to see what they say about each of your questions?? The official site should give you the info you need, and they are the last word, not the folks on the DIS.

Thanks for the help.

I have read a bunch on the TSA website, but some things they either don't make clear, or I wanted to see what members here have encountered.
