Hi there...I've been lurking here doing lots of research. We are going to DW in June. I am 34 and have not been to DW since I was in 1st grade! They were BUILDING Epcot when I last went!

We are SO excited to bring our kids on their first DW adventure and discover DW ourselves again (hubby last went in grade school, too.) We plan to bring our kids a few times over the years before they're all grown up. Our DD is turning 5 this week and our DS is 7 1/2.

We are booked to stay at GF for 7 nights. With our kiddos being so young and it being all so new to us, I booked our ADRs (I'm learning all the acronyms :rotfl:) in locales on the monorail.

Here's what we have booked:
Day 1: Arrive in afternoon...walk around, hang out, eat junk :)
Day 2: LUNCH - Cinderella’s Royal Table (Magic Kingdom Castle)
Day 3: BREAKFAST - Chef Mickey (Contemporary Resort)
Day 4: DINNER - Le Cellier (Epcot)
Day 5: DINNER - Kona Cafe (Polynesian Resort)
Day 6: DINNER - Teppan Edo (Epcot)
Day 7: DINNER - The Wave (Contemporary Resort)
Day 8: Check-out :sad2:

Did I go to heavy on fancy places or are most of the restaurants truly kid friendly? My kids do well in restuarants generally. I know they'll love Teppan Edo - they love japanese steakhouses.

Please share your thoughts...thanks!

Sounds good. Some questions: do you have the DDP? If you do you should have one more ADR. Also, hoping you got early times for dinners. I know my kids get hungry at WDW from all the walking. LC might not be as kid friendly but you are lucky to get an ADR there. What about 1900 park fair? My kids like buffets better b/c they have more choices than the limited menu at some of the other places.

Thank you so much for your help! I did book dinners early. The times range from 4:40 P.M. to 6:25 P.M. (the latter is the LC ADR...that makes me kind of nervous). I have a lingering fear of my kids wanting nothing to do with sit down dinners at the end of the day. I guess my strategy is parks early, then hang out and swim/nap at GF before dinner.

I have thought about 1900 Fare. If I were to switch one out, which one would you choose for me with these circumstances?

I am so excited for this trip. I had a second heart procedure two weeks ago for a heart rhythm problem and this will be the first time in a long time I could even fathom doing rides, heat, all this walking, etc.

Best of all, I cannot wait to see the HUGE smiles on my kids' faces! They love all their Disney movies and have been begging to go to DW!

Oh, one more thing - yes, we are on the dining plan. I thought the Cinderella meal was 2 TS, so we were all tapped out?

Sounds like a good plan, if you want one more character meal and don't mind paying OOP, my DD5princess: and stepdaughter 13 loved breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore.

Its a great buffet and reasonably priced if paying for it yourself.

Your numbers of meals are correct...you did good!

Your kids are fine at all of those restaurants - like your choices. We've been to all of these except Teppan Edo. I think you'll find that Disney restaurants are very efficient getting your food to you so there's no 2 hour-dining while your kids are going crazy at the places you picked - especially for early meal times (the later you go, the bigger the chance a restaurant will be backed up on seating times & serving.) You've got a nice selection of "entertainment" venues and regular restaurants (CRT, Chef Mickey's, Teppan Edo all have something to watch or characters) so you kids should enjoy them. On you night with a later ADR, just make sure to have lunch a little later and an afternoon snack to tide the kids over - that'd be a good day for pool & an ice cream or something.

Sorry. I wasn't thinking- yes CRT is two credits, but worth it if you have never gone. Your dd may want to wear a dress up to that, many girls do.

I went to Kona on my honeymoon last week and can't say enough good things about it. The bread alone is worth it! We saw a ton of families there too but the menu choices for the under 9s seemed to be kind of limited to hot dogs and chicken fingers (great if your kids like that, but I would have been bored).

Obviously the character meals will be a hit!

Hey! You will LOVE the GF!!!!!

Just a suggestion~ I would seriously try and get either a breakfast or dinner (or both!) at 1900 park fare!

My kids love this place! Dinner is hysterical with the step sisters so even the boys enjoy it.

The breakfast has Alice and the mad hatter who are also a riot!

The food is good and its a lot of fun ... and since you will be at the resort anyway~ not much traveling :thumbsup2

Ditto!! If it were me, I'd swap CRT for this one since you have a lunch booked there. Not many characters at lunch..Cinderella is downstairs and if I am correct, only the Fairy Godmother will be at lunch. If you chose 1900 PF you will still have one more TS credit. You could think about Whispering Canyon, at the Wilderness Lodge. It's tons of fun and while not on the monorail, its a quick boat launch from either the GF or the MK!

I'm confused. Don't they have most of the princesses at CRT meal anymore? They were there when we went.
I'd get rid of the Wave and book 1900 for dinner. Your will like it more.
Another good place is Crystal Palace in MK.

I like your choices.

The Wave at the Contemporary is great, I wouldn't change it.

CRT has the princesses at breakfast and lunch, dinner is the Fairy Godmother and the mice.

Have a great time.

This will be our second trip (14 nights) and I am still having trouble deciding what places to eat at. I want to try new ones, but also want to go back to some of our favorites.

I would keep CRT for lunch. It does have all of the princesses, and I think your family will love eating inside the castle.

Thank you, everyone for your input. OK, so I am thinking I might try to get a meal at 1900 Park Fare - my kids would probably get a real kick out of the stepsisters! So, breakfast or dinner at 1900??? This will be convenient, too, as it is at our hotel.

Thanks, again. I think I'm going to keep The Wave. Sounds interesting and seems to be picking up steam with recent reviews.

Dinner has the stepsisters. We've never done breakfast, but have done dinner many times & love it!

All of your choices look great, btw. Can you take me with you? :rotfl:

You are too funny :rotfl: ! Thanks for the advice. Does anyone know if the step sisters are at breakfast?

I think breakfast is just Alice, The Mad Hatter, and Mary Poppins. I feel like I'm forgetting one, but the Cinderella crew is only at dinner.
