Total newbie & need advice how to go about renting either a condo or townhome or a home near DW, 2 beds & with a pool & hot tub, luxury home preferrable for 2 nights in Mid May.

Is the only way to do this is contact an owner(kinda scared going that route) or are rental companies that can do it for me? Any advice appreciated.

A couple of rental companies that get good reviews are floridasunvacationhomes.com and allstarvacationhomes.com
They are usually more expensive than renting directly from the owner.

Townhouses with small pools are found in Windsor Hills, Encantada, Paradise Palms, a few in Windsor Palms and Terra Verde. Pool homes abound everywhere.
You can rent directly from owners on vrbo.com , homeaway.com etc.
Windsor Hills: windsorhillsrent.com

Note: Some have a 3 night minimum.

You could also look at Reunion Resort. Their townhouses don't have private pools but they are very nice. There are also pool homes. You can rent directly from owners or go through the main desk at the resort. Very high end condos in the Reunion Grand. www.reunionresort.com

We have used Alexander homes rentals twice and really like their service. I also have friends that use them. (One friend rented a home last year and when they arrived their fridge didn't work.) Alexander homes was unable to get the fridge fixed and within two hours they were moved to another property. (The home was even nicer than the one they paid for.) I think the webiste is floridasunshine.com. hope this helps.
