Hello ...

First time cruisers (DW & I) and we need to what to bring on a three day cruise. We always seem to over pack when we visit WDW. We plan for this and that but in the end, we never wear everything.

Besides swin suits and wrap arounds, what are the most important items to have? We plan on doing "Palos" and a couple of the other dinner events.

How formal are the dinners? We don't mind dressing up (we make a lovely couple,IMHO :D ).

So all of you DCL vets, give us your tips, advice and maybe your list.

Thanks to all,

Dude

I would consider myself an expert for packing for 3 day cruises.

Tony's rule of thumb, pack 2 outfits per day, the casual day one (t-shirts and shorts) and the evening outfit (the dress duds).

I pack 3 swimsuits for each person, and 3 cover-ups (female)/ or t-shirts (male).

And because you are in the tropics at least 1 spare day outfit (two if you got room) for when you want to change because you're sweaty.

Don't forget the water sandels, sun block, after sun lotion for sunburn, spare sunglasses, water googles for the pools

One of our travel bags contains the following permanent items (replaced as used or once a year). After sun lotion, spare disposible razers, the usual tolieties (deoderant, shaving cream, tooth brushes, toothpaste, contact lens care, single use dental floss picks), Alka selzer, Tums, Zinc logenzes (they work), Zantec 75, bandaids, anit-biotic cream, ibuprofen, shampoo and conditioner. Spare non-ziploc plastic bags (anything liquid gets packed in a tied plastic bag).

Dumb question but why not zip lock bags? Have you had trouble with them? You must have a reason to be so specific!

the zip lock bags don't always lock and if they do they trap too much air in them. I find that the the pre zip lock bags are more fleible, and when you tie them in a knot they generally don't leak. I had the cap come off a suntan lotion bottle and the only thing toasted was the bag.
