Hi! Newbie here. I have a 150 pt Dec use year contact and booked a Nov 2023 trip with Dec 2022 pts. already. But I had an extra 58 pts leftover, so I banked those into the next year. I don’t think we’re able to travel again in 2024. So my question is - can I use those 58 pts in 2024 or do they expire in 2023? If they expire, what are my options? Renting them? Thanks for the advice!

The banked 2022 points will be in your 2023 UY. That means they have to be used from Dec 1st 2023 until November 30th 2024.

I have a Dec. use year & it is a tad confusing because only 1 calendar month is actually in that years ‘use year.’
Any trip you take between Dec. 2023 & November 2024 will use points that are in your 2023 use year & to ‘pay’ for that trip you can use those 58 banked 2022 points, all of your 2023 points and you can even borrow from 2024 if you need to.
W/ a Dec. use year most of your trips will ‘feel’ like you’re using last years points IME 😂.

Thank you! It is confusing, like you say, because the calendar year only has a month left, while the use Year is mostly in the next calendar year! Thanks :)

When I started, I just forgot about the calendar year and just focused in on the UY of any trip I wanted to take.

Then I knew that I could pay for that trip with banked points from the UY prior to the trip, points from the UY of the trip and borrow points from the UY after the trip to complete the reservation.

This definitely made it much easer for me.
