Newbie ? about add-ons.

I am not yet a DVC member - still evaluating. But I have a question about add-ons. I have noticed several posts from folks who have added on 50-60 points with a home resort different than their "main" home resort. What benefit is there in this given that the 50-60 points will only get you a few days? Or, does the 50-60 points give you home resort benefits (11 month window) for all of your points, inc. those with an alternate home resort?

Hope that wasn't confusing, and that someone can clarify for me.

No, you don't get home resort for all your points. There are several reasons for doing this. A fifty point add on can be 150 points every third year using banking and borrowing. It would also allow you to add a few days at the begining or end of your stay at a different resort.

Of course, if there is availability, you can use them to add to your regular home resort at the seven month window.
