Newark airport hotels

Hi

I have an overnight stay in Newark, early flight next morning to Orlando, and was wondering if anyone has any information, recommendations - good or bad on any of the airport hotels, the Holiday Inn at the airport is the one I'm looking at but not sure.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in 2002 when we were stranded in Newark after a storm.

It's ok as an hotel. Nothing special - the usual 10' by 10' room with two double beds and en-suite (but no wardrobe!). Clean and comfy. Reasonable breakfast menu. There is a small shop for toiletries and snacks.

There is a free shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel.

The Newark Airport Marriott is the highest quality hotel in the airport area....this is also the closest hotel to the terminals....you could literally walk to it from the terminals.

Although it's price reflects the quality ($229/nite Sun -Thu), if you happen to be staying over in Newark on a Fri/Sat...this hotels' rates drop dramatically down to $99 or $109 with buffet breakfast for two! This hotel has a great pool/fitness center & a few good restaurants...perfect for an overnite en route to Florida.

As alternates, I would check out the Courtyard by Marriott, or the Sheraton...but these both can't compare to the Newark Airport Marriott.

I've booked the Marriott Newark Airport Hotel via priceline - got it for £30!!! couldn't believe my luck. Glad to hear it's so close and a great hotel.
