New Zealand to Australia Port Adventures?

We are looking at booking the 10-Night Auckland to Sydney cruise this December. I am having trouble with finding port adventures at just about every port. Has anyone done this cruise and can you advise if this is a cruise that you really need to use local sources for sightseeing at each port?

It's definitely much (much) cheaper to book locally with the Australian/New Zealand port adventures. Plus because it's a new route (from memory the repositioning cruises between Oz and NZ were just 5 night at sea sailings prior to this one) they probably don't have many lined up.

Thank you...I was wondering if that might be the issue. I reached out to Disney about Port Adventures directly and they sent me a link to what I had already seen on the website...mainly just options for Auckland and Sydney. I wasn't sure if this was brand new or not...if this isn't the first sailing of this itinerary, I would love to hear from anyone who has done it. Thanks!

I did a similar cruise with Celebrity. 14 night round trip from Sydney to NZ and back. I don't know how long your port days are but I had 13 hours in Auckland with no planned excursions. I rented a car for the day and drove to Hobbiton for a tour (all pre-planned by myself). I even stopped at a local Alpaca farm on the way. Driving on the opposite side of the road as we do in America was a bit odd but not difficult. I gave myself plenty of time to get back to the rental car place to take an uber back to the ship. So it's definitely doable on your own!
