HI all,
Ok, one might have to stretch this to fit it into this forum, but since I have photos of this production in Chicago I'll be scrapping I'm going to make the stretch!
For those of you in the New York area that want to see a fantastic, awesome, out of this world theater performance try "Hairspray". Last night Carly Jibson took over the role of Tracy Turnblad.
Now why do I say this is exciting? Because little Miss Carly is one of our hometown girls!
She is a product of our theater program - that one I costume for - my kids are involved in, etc. She graduated in 2002, went to NYC and was cast fairly soon thereafter for the touring company. Where she was wonderful and we took 160+ people to Chicago to see her in January. About a month ago she got the call to come to NYC to replace the lead actress. She opened last night and I'm sure was phenomenal!
If anyone does go and manages to get any photos (I know that is hard inside the theaters) please let me know! I'd LOVE to add something from the New York production to my pages of her in Chicago!
