I know this doesn't belong here but I am sure many people know NYC and can give me an opinion?

We are planning a trip in June to New York City and are looking at The Helmsley Hotel on Park Lane-opposite Central Park. Anyone ever seen this hotel can tell me if it's nice?

I know Leona is 'The Queen of Mean' but I like the prices!

All help appreciated...:D

We're going in July, and have ressies at The Muse- www.themusehotel.com

They're a boutique type hotel, and their beds are SOOOO like Heavenly beds that we almost don't want to get up in the morning!!

It's down near Times Square though. If you're bent on having a view of Central Park- go to www.fodors.com and read some of the posts/reviews.

Have a great trip....

Don't have any ideas for you but the CB is sure where it belongs, all is okay here.

I haven't stayed here personally, but I have heard mixed reviews about it; based on those, my guess would be that it is a perfectly nice hotel, but not up to par with other NYC "deluxe" hotels, so if you've stayed in NYC before you may be disappointed. But I don't think it'll be a bad experience. Does that make sense?

I would also suggest, if you are open to it, trying Priceline. NYC is my favorite place to use Priceline, the savings are phenomenal. There are some cautions on using it; NYC is one of the places that really sticks to the "2 people per room" restriction on priceline, so if there are more than 2 traveling, that should be a consideration. You can get a whole lot of great info about NYC bidding on the NYC board at www.biddingfortravel.com.

Enjoy your trip!!!

I think you could do better for the $$ at most Helmsley locations.

What are you planning to do while in NYC? The Marriott Times Square actually has very large and comfortable rooms.

I also really like the St. Regis, the Rihga Royal, and the Hotel Giraffe (a little out of the way, but an incredible boutique hotel).

I would avoid the Milford Plaza.
