We went to NYC last summer and took the Grey Line 48 hr all loops tours. LOVED THEM!!! A great way to get an overview of the various areas of the city and see from the bus all the iconic images unique to NYC.
We loved it so much, that we are doing them again on our trip to NYC next week.
Last year we went up in the crown of the Statue of Liberty and then did Ellis Island. We are, again, doing it this year. About a 1/2 day for both. My DS wasn't with us last year so we want to make sure he sees these things with us this year. If you go to Ellis Island, be sure to pay for the audio tour ... it's a must!!!
I purchased most of my tickets on-line ... got a
AAA discount on the Grey Line bus tours and a discount on the NBC Studios tour (Googled for a discount code).
Last year we got a 4 star hotel for $110 night + Tax (NY Sheraton Hotel & Towers) via Priceline ... but this year, things are crazy. I did lock in a $200/night at the Belvedere Hotel for 4 adults. Still trying Priceline, but with needing 2 double beds am sticking to bidding on 4 star properties in midtown.
Anyway, have fun!
