We will be traveling through New York City on a Sunday morning around 11:00 am. Should we stay on 95 (George Washington bridge) or go around using 87 (Tappen Zee bridge).

Thank You

Holiday weekend or normal weekend? If you aren't trying to catch a flight and it isn't a holiday weekend - I would just pick the bridge you like driving over better - Tappan Zee for me.

Similar question - Saturday morning about 7 am on a non-holiday weekend. Is the GW Bridge a good choice then? :drive:

The GWB always has problems, it doesn't matter what day, there always seems to be delays of some sort. I'd go with the Tappan Zee, and enjoy the view, that bridge has an amazing view of the Hudson River

I traveled that route 2X a month for many years. There is no "right" bridge to pick without listening to the traffic reports in real time. The tap takes you 15 minutes out of your way so if the GWB only has a 10 minute back up its a better choice.

I tune into 1010 on the AM band as well as the NY traffic on the XM radio about an hour out. Based on the real time report I chose the route that will take less time.
