NEW YEARS TRIP

Give me all your best tips on a trip over New Years- we are staying at GF and POLY. No small children, teenagers and one senior. YES we know it's crowded, we have been to the world before and will be back - so we aren't trying to cross everything off our list, just looking for special things to do DEC 30- JAN 4.
We are planning on hitting last day of Festival of the Holidays in Epcot, we know about the food booths and the storytellers- any specific must do's? Are the fireworks in Epcot different on DEC 30/31?
We are staying at GF New Years- , I know the fireworks are special at MK? Any tips from seasoned pros who have done this before would be great!

The fireworks are special at Epcot on 12/31 only. Most folks will recommend that you do MK on 12/30 and Epcot on 12/31 since MK has special fireworks on 12/30, too.

But, I did the exact same thing you’re considering. We wanted to hit the holiday festival at Epcot and arrive on 12/30, so we went there. We stayed at the Grand Floridian on 12/31. After the fireworks, we rode a few rides and took our time leaving. The crowds outside the front gates were still crazy; I’d guess the lines for the ferry and monorail would take and hour to load. We fought our way to the boat that serves the GF and there was practically no line. It took a while to get that far, but it was a quick ride back to the resort.

Thanks! I don't think we are going into park on New Year's Eve- just for the day- we are enjoying a dinner at hotel and I hear the lobby becomes one big New Years event. We can see fireworks from the beach. I heard traveling that night is crazy, next year we will just stay at Epcot for New Years. If you think of anything else

I did new years EVE at the MK last year it was the one of my faveraate trips to disney ever.

ever crowded did not do many rides had the deessert party for both set of fire works NYE stayed at the conterpary so just walked back after.
