New Years Trip Report with Pictures

Adam and I drove up to Walt Disney World for two nights including New Years Eve, this past weekend.

We stayed at the Marriott Orlando World Center. They say it's the largest Marriott in the world and I believe it.

This was our view from our room in the North Tower.

We could see Pleasure Island.

That's Disney/MGM's Tower of Terror and Expedition: Everest in the background.

We could see The Contemporary Resort. Cinderella Castle is just to the left of the tower.

The Epcot Resort area.

Our bed was really comfy.

The Marriott's amazing pool area.

We went to Epcot. They had a beautiful tree.

And lights everywhere.

Adam and I went to the Animal Kingdom on Sunday.

Our first glimpse of Expedition: Everest.

The imagineers did an amazing job.

It was fascinating to see the trains move in and out of the mountain.

For New Years Eve, we went to the fun Hoop Dee Doo Revue.

You could see the actors were having a great time too.

We got to the Marriott in time to view the fireworks from all the Disney parks.

Great photos - thanks for sharing. Please tell me what you thought of the Marriott. We have considered staying there. I have a 14 year old son, would he enjoy the pool area and do they have any other things a young teen might enjoy?

We were also a bit apprehensive of the Marriott because of it's size, but we were very happy with it. The location is great, just outside Epcot Drive, basically. The pool area was amazing. There was also a quiet pool, a spa pool and even an indoor pool, which I did not show in pictures above. They had a games room, ping pong, and a children's activities room. There were lots of teens around as I think they were hosting a girl's soccer group.

P.S. We were there this past weekend as well and the NYE fireworks at Epcot were AMAZING! I think you saw them too from the looks of your pictures.

how was the pricing, package, cost, etc. in relation to staying on property with a package...was this a better deal? it certainly was a better view.

We decided to do this quick trip kind of last minute, so the price for staying on Disney property was prohibitive. I did not like the fact that I had to pay for parking (both at the hotel and at Disney parks), but with the price we got at the Marriott, it made up for it.

OMG, my favorite pic was the last ones with the fireworks!! How cool was that? Did the Sheraton have good prices? The rooms look really nice. Ya'll had a great view! I can't wait to ride EE in 7 MORE DAYS!!!! Oh, it's killing me but your pics and trip report has got me even more excited!!!!
