Yes New Year's Eve was amazing. It was formal night, and the pirate night fireworks were moved to NYE, so that was fun. After dinner there was a deck party, with a DJ, characters, hats, noise-makers, free champagne and non-alcoholic drinks in souvenir glasses. The whole evening was very festive and a definite high light of the trip.

Did you keep the Navigators by chance? I would love to see them if you have them. Any way you could post them?

I wonder if NYE would be a good night for Palo or Remy. What time did the NYE deck party start. Was there a countdown to midnight?

Dreaming of this cruise is my favorite way to procrastinate cleaning my house . . .;)

How was the general weather during this week? I'm so used to cruising in warmer weather that I'm just wondering what the temps were like.

Thanks!

We were on the Dream for the January 2nd cruise, and the weather was fantastic. Temps were in the 70's - no rain. Water was a little chilly but not so bad that you couldn't swim. Of course, that was the Bahamas. St. Thomas/ St. Maarten should be warmer. Avg high in St. Maarten in January = 85.

Love the countdown! I had to laugh last weekend. I am doing a cruise in April with my BFF that my kids don't get to come on and I got to check in last weekend. When they asked what I was doing, they got all excited that I was checking in for the cruise. I explained that it wasn't the one they were coming on, but I said, "Cheer up, it's only 11 months from today until our cruise." You would have thought I had said we were leaving tomorrow the way they got excited. "Only 11 months? Really?!" That's what you get when you start planning 2 1/2 years out.;)

It seems so far out. Last year, we were lucky enough to get three cruises within 12.5 months. This cruise will be 12.5 after our last cruise. Wish I could sneak one in before NYE. I would love to do the EBTA, but it is not in the books for us this year. I noticed that you are doing the 1/2 marathon. I am trying to get my distance up to a 1/2 - only at 10K. This year I have 5 races planned that will help build my endurance. Looking forward to Castaway Cay 5K on our cruise.

I am getting very excited about the Princess 1/2. It will be my first one. I did a 10 mile in October and a 10k on New Year's Day, but this will be my longest race. I'm hoping to do another one in August, but not at WDW. :( I will be doing the Expedition Everest Challenge in May, though. Did it last year and it was a ton of fun.

Good evening everyone,

Ellen (Podsnel) and I are joining forces to arrange a Meet and Greet for our cruise. How does Day 2 (a sea day) in the mid-afternoon at the Vista Cafe sound to everyone? The Vista Cafe is near the staircase so that we could then all walk over and do a group picture. We used that venue on my recent Thanksgiving cruise and it seemed to work out well. Or, if anyone has a better idea, let us know!

At the Meet and Greet, I thought it would be fun to share a Fantasy trivia/scavenger hunt game that I made. I made it for the Turkey cruise so it is already done (though now that I've been on the ship I have even more questions to put on it -- so watch out, it's hard!!) As I mentioned to Ellen, after I passed it out at the Meet and Greet on the Thanksgiving cruise, I saw some teenagers wandering around the ship with the trivia sheet and it made me giggle a bit. For those who finish it, we can either meet up again before the end of the cruise or I can email out the answers to people who send me a PM.

Let me know if this appeals! Has anyone made any pre-cruise plans? We're thinking of staying a couple of nights before at WDW!

Beth

That sounds good to me.

And we are going to be staying at BLT before the cruise for a few nights. We have never been down at Christmas time and we want to check out all the decorations and stuff.

I'm so excited to have booked my first Disney Cruise over New Years! I'll be coming with my husband, Jason and my son Brendan (10 1/2) and daughter Hannah (9).

I was thrilled to find this board and would love to participate in the Fish Extender program.

I also asked to join the FB group.

Can't wait for my next Disney adventure and to share it with some great new friends!!!

Hi everyone! We were originally booked on the Thanksgiving cruise but switched over to this cruise to better fit our schedule! We have spent 3 Thanksgivings and a St. Patrick's Day on a Disney cruise ship so it only seemed natural to check off another holiday!

We are a family of 4- Charlie, Suzanne, Margaret (17) and Elizabeth (14). Stateroom: 7180.

This will be our 5th cruise and second time on this iternary. We can't wait to be part of all the cruise activities. Spent some time reading the past posts and can't wait to join the FE and other activities.

We decided to change categories. Earlier this morning, I noticed that a 9B GTY was available for our party of 4, so I moved. Our 11C room is open if anyone is interested. Rooms for 4 seem to be going very quickly I've noticed. Amazing how quickly these holiday cruises fill up.
