New Year's FANTASY 12/28/13

Hi everyone. We also just booked this cruise while we were sailing with Dave and Tanya and Julie and Joe! These are two great couples to be sailing with and we can't wait to sail with them again!

It will be me and my wonderful DH-Bob, daughter Becca (20) and daughter Brooke (17).

Can't wait to get to know everyone.

Welcome!

I accompanied my sister to a costume store to help her choose an outfit for a unit she's teaching in school. While I was twiddling my thumbs waiting for her to change over and over I Was checking out the rest of the merchandise. Got totally excited when I saw the pirate costumes. Made me start thinking about what I want to wear for pirate night. It's fun that little things that come up can make me all giddy for the trip even though it's still so far away.pirate:

Hi Jan!

We look forward to meeting you on the cruise. Our kids are also grown. We will be in London and southern England for three weeks this May/June. Any advice? What weather should we expect? This trip is instead of a cruise this year after 3 last year.

Jen

Hi Jen,

Really sorry I have just seen this.

Our weather is really unpredictable. You will not need a thick Coat as its never freezing in May or June. It can be Chilly, so a Jacket, Hoody, thick cardigan. Jeans/long trousers.
For the nicer days Capri trousers, maxi dresses Shorts.
We can literally have Hot in High 70's for few days, then Rain, then Sun etc.
One thing though we do not have laundry rooms in our Hotels here in UK.
You can send clothes off to be cleaned, but it will be quite pricey.

London, we live about 55 miles from London but honestly do not visit very often. There is a good underground Train system that can get you around quite quickly. It is cheaper to buy a pass, for the number of days that you are in London for.
You can find leaflets around that give you deals on attractions. Also there is a ticket booth at Picadilly circus, that can give you good deals on Theatre shows for that day.
South Coast - Some lovely areas and Beaches. Which ones are you planning on visiting ?.
Hope this maybe helps, is you have any more questions please ask, or you can always send me a pm. :)

Hi cruisers!! :wave2: I just booked on the Dream last week- Me (Ellen) DH (pods) DS 16 (Tyler) & DS 14 (Timmy)- well, that's how old they'll be when we sail! This will be my 4th Disney cruise, my family's 3rd- unless I manage to squeeze something in between now and then! We are cruising with my dear friend, Karajeboo & her family- can't WAIT to ring in 2014 with all of you!! :hyper:

BTW- DCL just released a bunch of inside cabins and OV staterooms, in case anyone was looking for that- just thought I'd pass it on, I stumbled on it this morning-

Looking forward to getting to know all of you-

Ellen

HI!!! :wave2:

Just booked yesterday snagging 1 of the 5 DFOV rooms released yesterday!!! I'm SOOOO excited! This will be my son & I's 2nd Disney cruise! We just got off the Dream last week and 4 days just wasn't long enough so I booked a dummy date and after obsessing for a week of when to do it (I was certain it would be another May date), a friend from my previous meet group Kara twisted my arm into considering NYE! I had sworn off any holiday cruises but then realized that my thought process was not quite right! My son won't have to miss much school like maybe 2 days max, I already have this time off of work (PAID), and our NYE's have been less than exciting since moving to Alabama! Price was another thing that gave me major pause, but since I'm using my dummy booking and it's so far out I'm ok with it!

Now for the real question! How the HECK do some of you have 2015 booked already???? I don't even see 2014 available yet!! Oh! and how is the weather REALLY? I had major concern about cruising this time of year to the islands. I'm from the deep south so when it hits 60 out down comforters are on the beds LOL! I want to be able to enjoy the ports fully.

And for those of you that have sailed NYE cruise with Disney what is done special just for NYE? Aside from the inherent atmosphere of NYE.

Something that worked very nicely with my last meet group was having a FB page! It was easier to navigate and get to since like the whole world is on FB! LOL! just let me know and I'll set it up! :thumbsup2

Muahahahahaha!!!! Yes, Kim, I "twisted" that arm, huh? :rotfl2:

Actually, it was my DH who first stumbled upon some youtube vids of NYE cruises and looked at me and said, "THIS should be our next cruise!"

Foolish boy that he is, didn't he realize I would go and book it?

This will be our 4th DCL cruise (unless I use that dummy date I booked last week on the Dream between now and then!), and 5th cruise overall (we are branching out and trying RCI's Freedom of the Seas next spring break), but first on the Fantasy!

I was lucky enough to sail on the Magic this year when she met up with the Fantasy and all those "firsts" during the Fantasy's maiden voyage!

It will be me, Kara, and my DH Jeff, and DD Ally (12 at the time of cruise).

Woohoo!!!!!

Welcome to everyone who recently joined our thread ... I think this cruise just got a little crazier!!!!!:yay::dance3::yay:

We signed up for this cruise last week during on Hawaii cruise on the Wonder. This will give us something to look forward to since we really did not want to leave the Wonder.

:cool1:

Welcome Kim and Kara!

Kim, I saw your post about NYE on another thread. I'm so glad you decided to join us. There must be some kind of crazy NYE party, right?

This will be our first 7-night cruise. We did a 4-nighter on the Dream over Halloween last fall (I guess we are just drawn to holiday cruising) and wanted more. I am hopefully doing a 5-night on the Wonder next spring. Waiting for my cousin to make up her mind on that one. After that, I guess I will have to try the Magic so I can say I've been on all the ships.

So do you think they will match formal night up with NYE? Also, as silver cruisers, will I have any shot at getting my DDs in at the BBB for NYE?

Yea I was trying to scope out some info about NYE cruises before booking and decided to just DO IT! LOL! I knew I wanted 7 day on Fantasy just didn't ever think I'd go for a holiday!! Woot! So EXCITED though!!
This is our 2nd cruise as well! I hope they match up NYE with formal night! As for BBB I couldn't tell ya! I have a son that thinks girls a totally gross LOL! :rotfl:

Just looked at our schedule as of now NYE is the same day as the Pirate Party! So I guess we will be bringing in the NY as Pirates and Wenches! :rotfl2:

How do you have a schedule already? I guess that makes sense, though. Then it will coincide with the fireworks. Maybe they will do them at midnight.

Just go to Disney website enter your login info and reservation number in planning center, then click on "My Cruise Activities"! :thumbsup2

On the Eastern itinerary, Pirate party is the same night as St Maarten because they travel so slowly to get to St Thomas so it's good for fireworks.....
