New Year's FANTASY 12/28/13

Finally jumping in. Jen and DH Marc friends of Ken and Deb. We booked some time ago and can't wait for a New Years cruise. We have been on 4 DCL cruises(eastbound transatlantic, Mexican Riviera, Alaska and 3 day Dream) and are hoping for the West bound transatlantic in 2013.

Well, Hi, Jennifer!:cool1:

It's down to 1 year, 10 months, and 5 days - this should be a real fun cruise.

Meanwhile, paying a big chunk for this one soon to take advantage of the 5% offer for the Disney Premier Visa - and you know we're waiting impatiently for that WBTA as well! So we'd get back end of October, then leave end of December - two months between cruises or trips would be a great schedule to maintain, wouldn't it?

Hi everyone just checking by to say hello :yay:.
The months are going so soooo fast, March 1st already
We are all really in limbo for this cruise, other than saving for it
we cant really do much else at the moment for it.
Luckily for us we are going to California in June, our first time and we are really excited about the trip.
In the meantime we got two kittens last November and they are keeping me busy at the moment.
For now anyway, I would like to say hello to any newcomers to this thread
and I look forward to chatting to you all over the coming months.

I heard of a interesting way to save recently. If you have a Target red card (debit or credit), you always get 5% off merchandise. Target sells Disney gift cards that ring up as merchandise and the 5% off applies. You can pay for your cruise with the gift cards purchased at a discount. Additionally, after 5 prescription purchases on your red card, they send you an additional 5% coupon that is good for one day and combinable with the normal 5%. So, for a day, you get 10% off all purchases. I read on another thread where folks are taking advantage of this 10% and loading up on Disney gift cards to pay for their cruise. Pretty smart if you ask me!

Do all Targets have these g.c.s? I do not recall seeing them at ours, but I admit I have not really looked. I will have to check into it.

I believe they are fairly new to Target. Check back in the electronics area. My Target also carries Starbucks, Itunes, Subway, among others.

Hi! My name is Christine! I just booked this cruise today! It's our first Disney Cruise, but my daughter and I went on the American Girl Cruise w/ Eclipse. My husband, Mark is joining us this time! My daughter, Gemma, is going to be 11! Luckily we have a nice long Disney Vacation planned in November so I have other things to think about - it will make the time go faster!

Hi Christine, :welcome:
I am Jan and travelling with my husband Carl, we live in Oxford U.K.
No children with us as they have all grown up now.
This will be our sixth Disney cruise and we have sailed on Royal Carribbean once before.
We also have trips booked before this cruise, so the time will go quicker.
I am soooo excited though to be able to spend New Years Eve on a Disney Cruise :)

We, too, are looking forward to a New Year's Eve aboard.

Hi Jan!

We look forward to meeting you on the cruise. Our kids are also grown. We will be in London and southern England for three weeks this May/June. Any advice? What weather should we expect? This trip is instead of a cruise this year after 3 last year.

Jen

Thanks! I booked this cruise because it was over New Years! The last decade of New Years have been pretty boring. SO I decided for now on I want to spend New Years away from home doing something exciting! I'm sure by starting with a Disney New Years I am setting the barre high!

Here's the rest of our info. My DH Dave, DD Heather and DD Nicole (J&C'sMom), her DH Mike, then the really important ones - Julia will be 11 and Colin 8 at cruise time.

 Hello everyone, we just booked this cruise while on the March 22nd sailing of the Dream. Plenty of time to get to know everyone before we sail. We will have myself-David, DW-Tanya, DD-Courtney (18 at sailing) and DD-Jennifer (12 at sailing). This will be our 8th sailing with Disney. We had a very active and friendly DIS group on the last cruise, hope this works out as well. Look forward to chatting with everyone.

Welcome, Dave & Family!

I'll add your info to page one.

The thread is slow right now, but as you mentioned, plenty of time yet. I would expect it to pick up steam as cruisers such as yourself do onboard bookings while on the FANTASY and DREAM. We're looking foward to New Years Eve onboard, and a belated birthday for us -DW is 12/26, I'm 12/27:dance3:
I'm sure we'll have a great group online here, too!

Hi, We also booked this cruise while on board the Dream with Dave and Tanya. What a blast that cruise was! We set the bar pretty high so I hope this one will be as memorable!

It will be Julie, DH Joe, DD Jordan (18), DD Jamie (13) and DS Josh (11).

Can't wait :cool1:
