We're spending Dec 31st and Jan 1st at the HR. Has anyone ever gone the New Years Eve party at City Walk? Would it be appropriate to take kids ages, 16, 13, 11 and 9? Will all the resturants be tied up with this party or will we still be able to get priority seating with our room key? We've been to Universal and IOA many times but never over the holidays. Thanks for any advice.

I don't know the answer about restaurants but I would strongly advise you not to take kids to citywalk on NYE. It is wall-to-wall people and lots of drunk and disorderly conduct.

In reference to your question, the NYE party at Citywalk is definitely not for children (21 and over), but when we were there in 2001, it was far from roudy...We had a great time!!!! yes it was crowded, but definitely not disorderly. Everyone was having good time. Of course we encountered people who had more than their share of drinks, but we never encountered any major problems! We will be in Orlando for NYE this year, although we may not attend their event this year (we dont really care for David Lee Roth, this years entertainment), Anyone who is interested in going, go for it... :cool1:

I think it's $109 to attend the event. I got a flyer in the mail. Not sure how they'll rope off the area.

They roped it off pretty good in 2001. Without a wrist band you were not able to get in at all, and they did ask for our ID! They dropped the ropes around 1am (after the fireworks).

We are staying at RPR and planning to go to the parks on NYE. Will we have any problems getting back to the hotel if City Walk is roped off?

No you wont have a problem. They fence off from the corner of Emerills to Margaritaville. The outside bar is still open at Margaritaville but you cant gain entry inside without a wristband. Been to the NYE party the last 2 years and going again this year, had a great time each year. Annual pass holders get the tickets for $95 as well!

Children are definately not allowed. The party itself is outstanding. The food, the music everything excellent. It is a private party...ticketed event, adults only. (21 and over). Most of the city walk clubs are closed off to the general public until after midnight.

You may want to spend new years with your kids at one of the resorts..see what they offer.

Well its looks like we will be spending NYE at Citywalk after all. My husband and I talked about it and decided, although we are not interested in the David Lee Roth, we will enjoy all the clubs, food and fireworks! :cool1:

Hey Coulk,

Did you have a good time at the NYE Party this year??? We had a great time!! It was far better this year than in 2001. Looking forward to it again.

I spent NYE at Universal (inside the park not Citywalk). I had a great time riding the rides with Dark Marauder and his girlfriend. It wasn't as crowded as I expected but the LSU fans there made it twice as loud as usual.
