Dh booked New Years Eve vacation. :yay:

:sad2: HOLD EVERYTHING!!!! :sad2:

Just read a review that said the parks may be so crowded, that they may stop people (even hotel guests) from being admitted. :scared1:

For Disney to stop people....practically unheard of. Has this ever happened to you or someone you know? :confused3

For what we are paying, I hate to think of being turned away. Review stated that even if you have ADR's that will not guarantee admittance into the parks. Any feedback? :listen:

if you stay on site, you are guarenteed entry to ONE park, even though it may not be the park of your choice.

I'll be down from dec 19-25. Staying in AKL. if anyone sees me, say hi!

I have been during that period 3 times. Yes it will be crowded, but this is also a very magical time to go. Disney puts on a great show this time of year, opens the parks early, and keeps the parks open late.

This past year I was able to get to the MK at opening and ride the big rides and several others in less than 2 hours, then left the park for breakfast around 930. My DDs took advantage of the late hours by staying until closing for the Extra Magic Hours--which lasted until 5 AM some nights!

Best of all, if you are staying for a few days past New Year's, then crowds are mostly gone by Jan 3 or 4, leaving the parks very easy to navigate.

Enjoy!

Thank you. :thanks:
I was concerned after reading that they close the parks because of high attendance. I don't want to spend that kind of money and be turned away. I'd be disappointed, but 2 ds would be crushed. Nothing like being crushed by a mouse. It would take them forever to recover.

Yeah, he is a pretty big mouse. :)

Seriously, you are welcome, and have a great trip. Don't get scared off by the crowds, but do have a plan for the crowded days--and Priority Seating (or whatever it is called now) arrangements for those days. Also, don't forget to make use of the Fastpass system! Oh, I wish I was going that soon again!

I was there one NYE, and I never seen it so crowded, but doing it again this year. If you get to Epcot early, and just walk around and enjoy the festivites, your gonna have fun

Pop Daddy. I'll take the chill pill and party. :thumbsup2

You have fun too!

Have been to WDW many times over NYE...being a Resort guest does NOT guarantee you entry to a park! Resort guests are the last to be turned away mind you. You need to pick your park that you wish to spend NYE in ahead of time and enter as early as you can on that day. You can leave...and will be allowed re-entry into THAT park only!

They have many levels of closure with of course on site guests being the last that entry will be denied to. I spent NYE 2000 there...it was NUTS!!! I won't tell you what we paid (because WE are nuts!) but the same procedure was what we had to follow and we booked it 10 years out!

That all being said..it IS indeed wonderful during the Holidays! :thumbsup2

Too cool, Pop Daddy. I minored in sociology and we are people observers. Well, I didn't do too well in that course. :rotfl:

Observing, by definition means: watching and not interacting with. I'm by nature an interactor (word?), and I stop studying and start participating. I can't help being a "people person." I'm ready for the superbowl coach, send me in!!!! :cheer2:

It's not unheard of - happens most every year. Minnie56 is right - pick the park you want to celebrate NYE at, get there early and stay. They might not let you back in if you leave. It's worth it if you can manage it. :goodvibes
