We'll be in Orlando for two weeks in December. We're thinking of doing WDW 12/18-12/25. Moving on to US/IOA for 12/26-12/28 and back to WDW for 12/29-1/2. These are flexible dates though.

IYO - which is a better place for NYE? We'll be staying onsite both at WDW and Universal.

I was thinking of getting the 5 park 14 day pass but I don't when I could squeeze in a trip to Busch Gardens.

We are planning our 2nd trip to Universal for the NYE holiday, but without children. In 2001 we spent NYE at Citywalk and had a nice time.....However the event for NYE at citywalk is for adults only, but many families were at the parks for celebrations. Citywalk is roped off for ticket holders only. After 1pm, they open up and let everyone in. I can't speak for Disney, but I have read on this board that Disney does a good job as well.

Universal can be extremely crowded for NYE, so plan carefully. We waited over an hour just to get back to our hotel, and that was only 5 minutes away. We could have walked, but it was very chilly that night, and my husband had more than his share of champagne, so it was safer to wait. I have to post some questions here myself about alternate ways of leaving the park that night.....

I am sure Disney gets very busy as well. Either way you should have a good time. IF you need more information about CityWalk for NYE, please don't hesitate to email me...It was lot of fun!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

Normally I would say Universal whenever anyone had a question as to which set of parks to visit, however, if your kids are as young as they appear in the photo in your signature, you may find more family friendly fun at WDW.

I can highly recommend HRH and Universal for Christmas. Last year you could have Santa visit your room on Christmas morning. The Whobilation show over at Suess Landing is great and the huge snowmen outside Universal are really neat too.

Plus there are Holiday versions of the Ghostbusters, Blues Brothers...as well as the Barney Show (or so I hear). Though holiday shows run from the day after Thanksgiving to around a week or so after New Years. They also have the Macy's Parade, which I'm guessing they'd probably do again this year.

I've never been to a themepark for NYE, but I was at Universal a couple days after Christmas...chaos!! Although I can't expect Disney to be any better. Just busy, busy, busy!

But I agree that maybe Disney would be the best bet for NYE...you know for sure it'll be family friendly there.

They will have it. It's become a huge draw, plus I heard that Macy's is considering having some of the people who were balloon handlers in the USF parade go to NYC and handle ballons in the Macy's Parade on Turkey Day!

Looks like you have little kids..so probably disney on NYE..if you are an adult only party..then definately Universal on NYE..the party at City Walk is amazing.
