Epcot is open till 1 AM, no EMH

Historically they have but there is a possibility that they might not do it this year since so much of the park is out of commission right now, DHS will be the least popular park this season due its current condition. I would not count on it.

I don't know if they'll do it or not, but probably due to the holiday offerings, to me it appears that this year's attendance is up significantly from last year.

If the 2016 internal calendar is correct, DHS closed at midnight, no EMH. However, the 2015 calendar does show an EMH until 2am on Dec 31. That was the last year for the Osborne lights.

It is crazy at MK on the 30th! We book BLT just so we can see the fireworks from TTOTW Lounge!

However, yes, we are in EPCOT on the 31st.

You are a brave soul Bobbi. On NYE we will be sitting on the back patio of Poly Bungalow 2007 watching the firework at the MK (sipping champagne of course)

And what a view you will have. One year before the bungalows opened, we booked a boat to see those fireworks, and it anchored right by a bungalow, best view ever!

Gosh, there's been numerous posts about NYE at Disney and I think every single Dis'er that is going is doing MK on the 30th and Epcot on the 31st. Not a surprise mind you just that one would begin to think, based on reading here, if you did the opposite you'd find no one in each of the parks, LOL

Yeah, we are planning heavy crowds and not expecting to do much of anything beyond the FP we have booked and the meals we have booked. We are expecting to do lots of standing around with lots of other folks.
We aren't going to the parks early though, since we will be moving resorts each morning and we'll be up late on the 30th, hoping to stay till 3:00 if we can.
We are staying at resorts we can walk to from MK on the 30th (CR) and Epcot on the 31st (BWI) so we don't have any transportation woes.
We plan to head in late morning, do FP, eat lunch then head to the resort once we have our room for a few hours to get naps
We have the Dessert Party booked at MK on the 30th (the late one) so we aren't going to be trying to get back there till late since we'll be trying to stay till 3:00. I'm thinking we'll watch the early fireworks from the resort actually.
We'll try to get back to Epcot a bit earlier, probably closer to 7:00. We'll watch fireworks there from wherever we can. Figure, they are in the sky, it's not like you need a good view of the lagoon, even though I realize there are some there too of course. We'll make do with what we can. We have a late ADR at Napoli (9:00)

So excited about New Years in the parks. The one and only time I've been there during NYE we (then boyfriend now DH) worked at MK (him in strollers and me at Package pickup/lost and found) in early '90's...also happy hat the chance for rain those nights dropped.

To answer your question which most have already, i was never there when they have reached capacity. I love staying at SWan/Dolphin so we can just walk over after. This year we are driving.

I’m doing NYE at Epcot this year and this will be i think my 5th time! I love LOVE it! It’s my favorite way to spend NYE but you have to be smart about it and understand expectations.

ONCE and only once we made the mistake to take a taxi... BAD IDEA! Going there was great but leaving it was impossible to get one. We most have waited an 1 1-2hrs!

I’m terms of the park, Yes it’s crowded so don’t plan on ridding lots of rides. I plan to go on the 3 FP+ i booked a while ago and that’s about it - all later in the afternoon. 2. The rest of the day will be enjoying each countries parties and music. 3. Planned both lunch and dinner using ADR so there is no stress during meals. 4. I don’t plan to leave the park until ~1 hr after fireworks... no Rush to get out as it can get chaotic. Just enjoy the atmosphere and the new year!

I cannot wait for this year!

Staying at AKV so no advantage on transportation but we’re excited. The weather has turned “arctic vortex” in the northeast so we cannot wait until we leave Saturday. We’re doing MK with the late dessert party along with a few here it seems. It should be fun and worth it to avoid the crowds. Epcot on the 31st. Dinner just after the 6:30 show at Chefs de France. Great tip on walking to DHS for busses on the 31. We like that walk a lot. So maybe we’ll start around 12:45 and hopefully miss a lot of the craziness by doing so.

Luckily nabbed FOP FP+ on the 1st and 2nd last week, so we’re doing AK a few hours on the 1st and 2nd before heading back. Taking it easy those days. Only concern at this point is possible snow around our flight time on Saturday!
