A friend of mine is going to be in WDW from 12/28 to 1/4, she is renting a house in the Orlando area. We were talking about New Year's Eve and if any of the parks do anything special for New Year's Eve. She has 4 kids, 9 to 13 so Pleasure Island is probably out for her. I told her I would post her question here because the DisBoard is the best place for info from the experts.
Please let me know what you all think.

NYE is great fun but extremely crowded. If you are staying offsite,
you need to enter the parks before 10am and stay the entire time. Only onsite guests are guaranteed admission to the park.
MK is the most conjested, Epcot and MGM are better because they have more room. They have bands playing, special fireworks at midnight. Make sure she gets PS in advance cause its almost impossible that day. We go for the atmosphere, but don't expect to get alot of rides in, fast passes are usually gone first thing for the entire day.

Did NYE once at Epcot and once at MGM. Epcot was definitely the more crowded of the two, but seemed to have more going on also.
