New Years Eve at WDW

Also doing a quick trip for NYE. Down on the 28th and leaving the 1st.

My dream is to do MK on NYE. Am I crazy for attempting it?:goodvibes

My updated plans....

Dec 28-fly out late from LAX

Dec 29-arrive 7am, drop luggage, enjoy the chaos! La Nouba that night. Dinner at Paradiso 37.

Dec 30-Not sure. Osbourne Family lights that night. Finally!

Dec 31-Run 8 miles in the morning. Then Epcot for NYE. Have 9pm reservations for Rose and Crown...now I just need to find a date.:rotfl2:

Jan 1-Magic Kingdom. DISNEYLAND Main Street Electric Parade and Wishes

Jan 2- Animal Kingdom. Tusker House for breakfast at 830

Jan 3-WWOHP! Trip to Universal Studios to check it out. Love me those British boys!

Jan 4-Hollywood Studios. Fantasmic. Dinner at Hollywood and Vine for Fantastic ticket package.

Jan 5-Packet Pick Up and then Epcot. Marathon Pasta Party that night w/ Illuminations.

Jan 6-Animal Kingdom. Its a good day before race day relaxation. Done it my last 2 WDW race trips. Traditional Lunch at Port Orleans. Dig their pasta there.

Jan 7-Half Marathon. Then DTD to keep legs moving and get some food.

Jan 8-Full Marathon. Slowly trudge around Epcot after to keep the blood flowing! HAHAHA

Jan 9-Fly to Portland. Hmmmmm. 5 hour flight after 39.3 miles of running. Should be interesting getting off the plane in Oregon.

Just paid for the plane ticket and hotel today. Got the 30% AP discount at POP Century, so that was a HUGE plus. In addition, I had to cut out 3 days to my trip due to a meeting at WHQ for work. The good news is that they will pay for my flight from Orlando up to Portland at the end of my trip, so I only need to pay for my flight out there.

Cant believe it is only 3 months away. need to run more!!!!

I've been to Epcot for NYE and it was SLAMMED I can't even begin to imagine how bad it would be at MK.

it's gonna be ugly, accept it for what it is and dont let it ruin your night type of things.

FUN! The bf and I will be doing NYE at Epcot as well...having dinner just up the street from you at Bistro de Paris. We should meet up for the countdown to midnight!

That looks like a great plan.

I did NYE at EPCOT last year and had an amazing time. The Fireworks were spectacular--particularly the second show, and I danced for hours (danced-me-go figure).

Have a brilliant trip! :thumbsup2

That sounds great. I'll shoot you a message and see if we can meet up. Cant wait for the craziness to get here!

WOW! Cant believe it is almost here. It has been a crazy last month. I got a promotion! but that means I am moving from 10 minutes away from Walt's Park to...PORTLAND! :scared1:

Should be amazing, but it really screwed things up for me. Here is my revised plans. Hold on to your hats, its gonna be a bumpy ride.

Christmas Eve....my last day at my current store. :sad1:
Christmas Day...watch for myself on the parade in the morning and then head to Disneyland.

12-26...get all my worldly possesions together and organized

12-27...all my stuff heads to Portland. Check into hotel by Disneyland for the night. I also need to take with me anything I need for the next month since all my possessions will be in storage. LOL

12-28...my car goes to Portland. Take shuttle from the hotel to LAX that night and red eye to ORLANDO!:cheer2:

12-29...arrive Orlando at 7am. drop off stuff at POP, head to Nike Store in Celebration for a couple quick calls and email check. Then to Walmart for supplies and back to POP. Lunch somewhere. My friend arrives at 6pm, then we are off to DHS for the night to check out the lights and festivities. Probably 10pm show of Fantasmic. Tried to do the picnic lunch like we do here at DLand, but it is only for the first 2 shows.

12-30...Magic Kingdom all day! Lunch at Tony's. Fireworks and the Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade at night (yeah for 2 showings)

12-31...EPCOT! Gonna be CrAzY! Have dinner reservations at Via for lunch at 130 and Rose and Crown at 8pm for dinner.

1-1...Animal Kingdom when we get up. Tusker House for late breakfast. Abe fly's home at 5pm. Have a dinner reservation for California Grill for 9:25pm. Just gotta find a dinner partner since Abe had to head home a day early. Oh well, I am always up for solo dining and people watching and I have tried the past 2 trips to eat here and something keeps coming up. I am determined to have my sushi!

1-2...relaxing day. kinda. So this trip has turned into a Thank You trip for my parents for everythings they have done for me and a suprise trip for my 5 year old nephew that I dont get to see very often since they are all in Minnesota. Soooo, I booked then all tickets, reserved them rooms, bought them park tickets, and SUPRISE, let's go to WDW. They are all flying out on the 2nd and get here at 7pm. The 5 year old does not have a clue what is going on. They are telling him that he is coming with to bring Grandma and Grandpa to the airport. Then they will tell him they are going to look at the planes. Then they are going to "ask" if they can go and see the inside of the plane. Then he is going to call his mom to see if it is OK to go for a ride on the plane (so he doesnt freak out). Then they land in Orlando and head to the Magical Express. Not sure when he will figure it out, but it should be great.

1-3...Magic Kingdom day. Ohana for breakfast. Then whatever the G (the nephew) wants to do. Was fortunate to get 3 day tickets for $148 and it worked out perfect. Lunch at Pecos Bill and Dinner back at POP so we can rest a little before Fireworks and DMSEP.

1-4...Animal Kingdom. Up early for 8am park opening. Right to the safari. Lunch at noon at Tusker House (mmmmmm, one of my favorites). He is totally into dinosaurs, so we are doing T-Rex for dinner that night in DTD.

1-5...no clue. we have a day left on the tickets, so one of the parks. We can get into Epcot at 6pm for the Marathon Pasta Party/Illuminations viewing.

1-6...they all fly home bright and early. I need to hit the expo to pick up my race stuff. Not sure what else. Usually I do Animal Kingdom that day because it is soo relaxing before I run.

1-7...half marathon. have dinner reservations at Pardiso 37 and LaNouba tickets for 9pm. Front Row. A great end to my trip.

1-8..I was suppose to finish the goofy this day. unfortunately as the race is starting, I will be boarding the ME to head to the airport to start my new chapter of life in Portland as I start work the next day. They let me push the start back a week, so I was pushing it to hope they would wait until the 12th, as my original reservation at POP was through the 11th.

Not sure if I will get back next year. I am determined to get the Goofy, so we will see. And maybe next year is the year to get my Princess and Tinkerbell on and do an Estrogen Filled Coast to Coast.

Have an amazing Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Boxing Day, or whatever it is you celebrate at this time of year.

Congrats on the promotion :cheer2: and good luck with the move! :goodvibes
I'm still getting settled from an August move earlier this year.

Thanks Pat.

My running has been next to nothing the last 4-6 weeks with all the work craziness. The Half is gonna be a struggle for me. But an looking forward to getting to the new place and jumping into the running environment at work. There is a trail on campus (our WHQ) where I will be working, and indoor track at one of the health centers there, and a real culture of embracing running. They really want you to "Just Do It". LOL

Have a great holidays!
