New Year's Eve at Universal CityWalk

So we're trying to figure out where we want to do New Year's Eve and I'm thinking either Universal CityWalk or DCA.

I have a few questions for those that have been to CityWalk for NYE (hopefully there is someone that has been! *fingers crossed* )

1) Where exactly is it? Universal CityWalk is pretty big. We want to be able to view the fireworks pretty close.

2) What time should we get there if we want good views of the fireworks and countdown?

3) It's free admission, right? (Apart from parking)

The fireworks are shot from several locations. WaterWorld is one of them. You can sit in the arena and be quite close.

While admission is "free" parking costs upward of $45 per car on NYE.
