New Years Eve at HHI

Has anyone ever stayed at HHI over New Years Eve? Do they do fireworks or anything that night? We will be there the 26th through January 4th. I expect it to be cold but we thought it would be relaxing that time of year!

Although we haven't been at HHI for NYE (yet-I'd love to some year), I've heard other people answer this question. Apparently there's usually some pool party (I don't know what happens if the weather's super-bad), but no fireworks. Congratulations on being there over the holidays-we go for Thanksgiving every year and love the Christmas decorations.

We were at HHI for New Years Eve 2012!

It was a lot of fun!

They had the Ball Drop playing on ABC at Shadow's Point.

It was cold when we were there, sweatshirt, sweater, or light jacket cold.
But the cool walks on the beach at low tide are SO NICE!
We have been in the summer a few times, and will be there again in a couple weeks and will be longing for a cool evening walk! HAHA

Take a light blanket and pillow, most people don't think about curling up in a hammock in chilly weather, but it made for a PERFECT afternoon nap one day when the breeze was cool but the sun was warm. Take a nice paper book, or your favorite music and headphones and JUST relax!

They have done a late night pool party/plunge at the pool at midnight before, but they didn't do it the year we were there.

No matter the time of year, it is just such a wonderful place to be away from the troubles of the world! I love that the resort is on an island itself... away from the rest of the world!

We were there last year for New Years and had a great time. They had the ball drop playing on the outdoor screen and gave out hats and noisemakers. It was chilly, but not terribly cold. We actually used the hot tub that evening and there were a couple of kids in the pool. We did New Years at the Boardwalk the year before and compared to that, Hilton Head was very low key, but a fun evening for our teens.
